Your Opportunity at Arc’teryx:
As a Supply Planner - Temporary, you will play a key role in inventory planning and meeting company sales targets by negotiating and planning factory capacity, procuring finished goods and managing On Time in Full (OTIF) supplier delivery performance. You will work with a portfolio of overseas manufacturers and ensure that their capacity plan best supports our omnichannel inventory requirements. You will collaborate internally with the Sourcing, Quality Control, Raw Material Supply Planning and Merchandise Planning & Allocation teams to achieve supply and delivery targets. You will also support key projects and initiatives within the Supply Planning team and beyond, improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the sales and operations planning process.
This role is based out of our North Vancouver office and is open to hybrid remote work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Canada. Please note this position goes until 1/31/2026, with the possibility of extension.
Meet your future team:
Supply Planning is a highly dynamic and collaborative team of Supply Planners who manage a portfolio of overseas manufacturers, with a focus on delivering our global finished goods production plan on-time and in full. The team collaborates closely to drive process-improvement projects throughout the planning, procurement, and reporting cycle.
If you were a Supply Planner - Temporary now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Working with the Sourcing team to develop long and short-term finished good capacity plans at our overseas contract manufacturers
- Staying abreast with current economic and political events insofar they affect your factory portfolio and developing an excellent understanding of the supply chain for the finished goods you plan
- Supporting the Merchandise Planning team to create and maintain seasonal inventory plans
- Procuring finished good products and liaising with our Arc’teryx Liaison Office in Asia to manage work in progress and delivery schedules
- Ensuring factory fill rates according to our negotiated capacity and arbitrating internally and externally in the event of over/under-capacity, according to our supply agreements
- Partnering with the Merchandise Planning & Allocation teams to improve the quality of the demand forecast and develop adequate inventory strategies to improve customer service levels
- Working cross-functionally with the Sourcing and Quality Control teams to ensure bulk production ready dates according to the production schedule; supporting completion of sampling and/or quality assurance requirements
- Working cross-functionally with the Customs and Distribution & Transportation teams to ensure the efficient and timely handover of cargo from manufacturer to freight forwarder
- Tracking Supplier Order Confirmation Performance, Supplier Delivery Performance, and Supplier Lead Time Performance; analyzing the root cause of issues and recommending improvements
- Working cross-functionally with the Raw Material Supply Planning team to align raw material and finished good production schedules and to mitigate supply risks
- Managing relationships with manufacturers to ensure optimal supplier performance (growth, on-time delivery, communication, and flexibility) with a focus on long-term and mutually beneficial partnerships.
- Participating in group problem-solving and process-improvement initiatives to drive supply chain and team performance
- Managing internal and external expectations with respect to factory capacity and supply risks; preparing analyses and presenting data to drive action
- Supporting the migration of our existing ERP system to the SAP platform
- Adhering to negotiated lead times and balanced annual capacities to expedite responsible purchasing practices as outlined in the Responsible Sourcing Policy
- Upholding Fair Labor Association’s Workplace Code of Conduct and Principles of Fair Labor and Responsible Sourcing throughout the Arc’teryx supply chain
Here are some of the things you could be working on in the future:
- Supporting Supply Planning leaders to track and drive KPI continuous improvement and evolution. Analyzing the root cause of issues and providing recommendations for short- and long-term solutions
- Driving and contributing to monthly iterations of the reconciliation meeting and evolution of S&OP
- Leading and supporting onboarding and training for new supply planners, as well as cross training among supply planners
- Working closely with the Amer Sports Global Sourcing Vendor Sustainability team on quarterly business reviews and training/capacity building
Are you our next Supply Planner - Temporary?
- You have 3+ years’ experience in Supply Planning or an equivalent Supply Chain position, preferably in the apparel or consumer goods industry
- You have a bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Engineering, Operations, or Supply Chain and/or APICS certification
- You have knowledge of supply chain management, inventory management, global distribution network planning and project management practices
- You are a proficient user of Excel and have ERP experience
- You have excellent English written and spoken communication skills
- You have advanced analytical skills, understanding possible operational/financial impacts.
- You have strong organizational skills, excellent attention to detail, and exceptional multitasking skills
- You have strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a people-facing role
- You are not deterred by ambiguity and frequent changes in the world of supply chain and you excel at negotiating solutions in dynamic situations
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues, seeking the best (sometimes not the easiest) solutions with an unwavering commitment to do what is right

$69,000 - $86,000 a year
A reasonable estimate of the pay range is CAD$69,000 - CAD$86,000 at the time of this posting. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education and/or training.
