Your Opportunity at ARC’TERYX:
As the Finance Manager – Korea, you are responsible for the Finance team in support of the Korean operations at Arc’teryx. You, along with your team will support the country’s growth plans through ownership of Arc’teryx Korea’s Finance department handling accounting (and related statutory reporting), management reporting and planning cycle - including the long-range planning process, annual operating plan, forecasting processes and monthly reporting. You will review monthly performance and work closely with outsourced support and Brand HQ/Group accounting teams to ensure accuracy and completeness with our financial close. You will provide senior management with the analysis to understand business trends, make investment decisions and track and monitor performance to enable the region to deliver on its goals.
This role is based out of our Seoul, SK office. The position is open to hybrid work. Candidates must be eligible to work in Seoul, SK.
Meet Your Future Team:
The Finance team at Arc’teryx is responsible for providing leadership with the information they need to ensure timely, accurate and complete financial reporting, review past performance, understand business trends, and anticipate future profitability and financial position. Through review of historic financials, variance analysis and KPI tracking, finance advises leadership on key investment decisions and drives performance improvement.
If you were the Sr. Manager/Manager - Korea now, here are some of the core activities you would be doing:
- Plan, forecast, report and financially be accountable for Arc Korea’s P&L.
- Reviewing and providing guidance to our outsourced service providers for day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping operations to ensure accuracy and completeness of monthly and quarterly financial close.
- Working with Brand HQ and Group accounting teams to ensure compliance with monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting commitments.
- Lead and build a high performing Finance team, developing future leaders at Arc’teryx and recognizing and building your team members’ area of expertise.
- Preparing and maintaining the long-range 5-year plan for the South Korea operations. Connecting the regional strategy with the key drivers, inputs and investments required to deliver on the region’s plans.
- Driving the annual planning cycle, including setting financial goals, managing calendar and milestones in accordance with Brand HQ guidelines, roll-up and analytical review of the region Budget, and finalizing and presenting of plans to senior leadership.
- Leading the Korea Finance team in performing daily/weekly/monthly sales and financial reviews and leading the assessment of risks and opportunities against our plans.
- Plan, forecast and report against our SG&A and expense plans for the country.
- Provide decision support and analysis to support our Regional departments and functions.
- Assess, build and strengthen Korea-specific accounting and reporting capabilities.
- Leading key review discussions with Region leadership team (budget, quarterly forecasting), delivering quantitative analytic work that unlocks business insights and drives decision making.
- Presenting and reviewing financial performance with the Brand HQ Finance team.
- Developing the process for key regional investment and capital spending projects. You critically assess business cases, and conduct post completion reviews of budget vs actual spend.
- Bringing insights and best practices to drive process improvement and innovative thinking.
- Performing ad-hoc reporting and other duties as assigned.
Are you our next Senior Manager - Korea?
- You have 8+ years of experience as a finance leader ideally with a focus on retail industry.
- You have a university degree in Commerce or Business Administration coupled with CPA or MBA.
- You have exceptional analytical and modeling skills and expert knowledge of financial statements.
- You ideally have international business experience, or have experience working in a global, matrixed organization.
- You can communicate (verbal and written) in Korean and English language for international collaborations and leadership networking.
- You have demonstrated ability to drive projects across an organization.
- You can step in and take charge with minimum instruction.
- You can prioritize and manage multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You have experience working with BI tools and multi-platform, multi-currency environments.
- Familiar with global ERPs (such as SAP) and financial planning tools (i.e., Oracle).
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions.
