Our car dealership client is seeking a Business Development Center Sales Representative to join their team. This is a temp-to-hire, onsite position.

The Business Development Center Sales Representative is a valued position in the company for their education and expertise in handling customers interested in vehicles via the stores electronic database. This position provides efficiency for the sales departments at all company locations by taking care of the customers that call in or inquire electronically ensuring that they receive the highest level of customer service. This vital step is valued because the company as it allows the sales consultants to provide the same amount of customer service to the customers that walk into the dealership. This position provides 360 degree value to the company by working with customer from the moment they inquire to ensure their satisfaction at the end of their purchase or interaction with the company. This position moves people because of the timely response and customer service that the customer experiences before even stepping into any of our dealerships. 

Responsibilities

    • Greet every customer in person with a smile on your face, or on the phone with a smile in your voice.
    • Always wear required logo shirts and business attire in order to represent the dealership in a professional manner. Jeans, shorts, athletic shoes, and other casual attire are not appropriate.
    • Answer incoming internet inquiry calls within three rings.
    • Ability to handle stressful situations
    • Schedule appointments for customers to come into the dealership.
    • Email all customers listed in the database.
    • Assist customers via phone with any questions concerning their interest in specific vehicles.
    • Send quotes to customers and call to confirm desired quotes have been received.
    • Help potential buyers make a decision on which vehicle to purchase.
    • Enter all information about customers into VIN solutions, including notes about the possible purchase to ensure a seamless transition from one customer visit to another.
    • Follow up with customers whether or not they have purchased a vehicle.
    • Build and maintain relationships with customers and new contacts.
    • Demonstrate value of after sale products and accessories to customers.
    • Explain all features of newly purchased vehicles to maintain the relationship with the buyer and build value for our dealership.
    • Familiarize the customer with what our dealership offers during and after purchase.
    • Close out deals online and mark them as “sold.”
    • Know what product the store’s inventory holds and maintain inventory book.
    • Be present for weekly meetings.
    • Ensure the month-end goals are met.
    • Assess what needs to happen in order for next month’s goals to be hit.
    • During winter, clean snow from cars and lot.
    • Maintain your customer CSI above target or Regional averages.

Requirements

    • High school education or equivalent plus additional specialized training; and one year of basic automotive dealership and/or general sales experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have a valid driver’s license and clean recent driving record. 
    • Knowledge of secretarial, accounting, or office practices and procedures; laboratory or test procedures, including utilization of standard software applications such as spreadsheets, databases, presentations, word processing, electronic mail, internet, etc. 
    • Principles and processes for providing customer and personal services, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction; knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming; and knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services, including marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems. 
    • Active listening, including giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting; excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey information; monitoring and assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action; bring others together in an attempt to reconcile differences through negotiation; service orientation through actively looking for ways to help people; and use of social perceptiveness to be aware of others' reactions and understand why they react as they do. 
    • Use of category flexibility to generate or use different sets of rules for combining or grouping things in different ways; ability to persuade others to change their minds or behavior; and problem sensitivity including the ability to tell when something is wrong or likely to go wrong. 
    • Requires the expending of effort involving lifting or moving, or equivalent pulling, pushing, carrying, shoveling, or stretching with light weights of between 5 to 25 pounds on an occasional basis. 
    • Continuous mental attention, visual demand, and/or manual dexterity required. The flow of work is usually repetitive or involves diversified operations requiring constant alertness or activity.
