We are currently looking for a CNC Operator Machinist to join our client's engineering department.
Responsibilities
- Program, set up and operate CNC mills/lathes, operate manual mills/lathes, drill press, saws and laser cutting systems
- Read blueprints for product specifications
- Assemble component sub-assemblies according to drawings or manuals.
- Mechanically inclined to perform preventative maintenance on shop equipment.
- Rebuild equipment and fabricate/repair parts.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a CNC machinist or equivalent work experience
- High School Degree or equivalent
- Strong mechanical knowledge required.
- Proficient with MS Office tools coupled with general computer literacy
- Proficient in standard (Imperial) and metric systems
- Able to read / supplement / correct drawings
- Self-starter, team player and positive attitude
- Willing to learn, develop new skills, and take on other duties / responsibilities as assigned.
- Willing to work overtime and weekends, at times, to meet customer requirements.
Preferred
- 5+ years of progressive experience as a CNC machinist or equivalent work experience
- Certificate in CNC precision programming/machining or equivalent education/experience.
- Familiar with PLCs, programming logic, and automated systems.
- Proficient with AutoDesk Inventor CAM, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software package.
- Ability to communicate in English both verbally and written.
