Artera’s Finance team is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join the team. You will report into our Senior Manager, FP&A and join a lean team. 

The right person for this role is looking for their next opportunity at a fast-paced SaaS company. You have a strong understanding of GAAP and are interested in learning more about SaaS financials. You are looking to join a mid-sized organization with lots of opportunities to learn and grow. You are interested in having visibility into all areas of the business and having a seat at the table in executive conversations. You are excited about the idea of joining a later stage startup and being part of a potential exit.

Responsibilities

    • Maintain and improve spreadsheets that model the business; building new models
    • Plan and forecast general ledger and pipeline data 
    • Prepare and automate monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages, including professional presentations outlining detailed variance explanations against budget and forecast to understand performance drivers
    • Meet deadlines for timely reporting to your business partners 
    • Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate accruals that are being booked to the correct cost centers for accurate variance commentary
    • Update our models and plan based on organization shifts as needed
    • Ad hoc reporting, analysis, presentations and special projects as needed
    • Connect our ERP’s system to operational business models; extract data from our ERP to Excel
    • Consistently look for ways to solve more business problems that fuel growth and drive out waste, present your ideas, and push your ideas forward 
    • Assist with implementing new tools and systems

Requirements

    • 3-6 years of Financial Analyst experience
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to master new systems and applications quickly
    • Experience with 3 statement modeling 
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
    • Familiar with GAAP accrual accounting  
    • ERP experience (Ex: NetSuite, Sage, SAP, etc.)
    • Solutions oriented; mindset of process improvement
    • Strong independent worker with excellent communication skills
    • Comfortable working on multiple projects simultaneously while delivering results in a timely manner
    • Consistently delivers clean, quality work; obsessed with accuracy
    • Experience building and maintaining internal business partnerships
    • Available to travel a few times a year to our Santa Barbara, CA headquarters

Bonus

    • Experience working for a SaaS company 
    • SQL skills 
    • Salesforce experience
    • Experience with Netsuite specifically
    • Experience with Planful (or a similar planning software)
    • Advanced Google Sheets skills
    • Healthcare industry knowledge 

Our Expectations 30/60/90

    • Within 30 days you will… Gain an understanding of our accounting data, our financial plan, and our models. Start to be able to discuss our business metrics and understand where to find what in which model. 
    • Within 60 days you will… Start to update models for the Senior Manager, FP&A to review. Help the Senior Manager, FP&A design new interfaces of systems. 
    • Within 90 days you will… Be a strong independent individual contributor and start to make an impact on the team and business.
    • Beyond 90 days you will… Contributing to and initiating process improvement projects.
$80,000 - $106,000 a year
The compensation for this role will be based on level of experience and the geographic tier in which you are located. This position also comes with equity and a variety of benefits.

Tier 1 Salary: $89,000 - $106,000
   
Non-Tier 1 Salary: $80,000 - $95,000
SPECIFIC NOTE ON LOCATION: We are only open to candidates based in Santa Barbara, CA, Los Angeles, CA, San Francisco, CA, Kansas City, MO, or Philadelphia, PA. If you are based in Santa Barbara, CA this is a hybrid role.
