About Us: Artera Inc. is a stealth Biomarker startup using AI to disrupt the Molecular Diagnostics industry to personalize care for cancer patients starting with prostate and breast cancer.

The company is currently seeking a Medical Director with oncology experience (or related clinical experience) and research background with exceptional communication skills to join the team. This role is remote. As a Medical Director, you will be reporting to the VP of Medical Affairs and be a key part of the Medical Affairs team. In this role, you will contribute to the overall strategy for implementation and execution of Artera’s medical affairs tactics consisting of confidence and evidence-generating activities, while being mindful of established timelines, budget, and quality standards.

As Medical Director, you may be assigned primary responsibility for one or more clinical areas prioritized by the company and your efforts.

Essential Responsibilities:

    • Lead advisory boards and roundtable meetings with academic and community physicians that are part of the Multidisciplinary team; create meeting materials such as agenda, slide deck, discussion guide, top line summary, and full summary report.
    • Lead virtual platform discussions with community physicians to educate and obtain actionable insights.
    • Contribute to the development of medical affairs plan (MAP) and tactics in collaboration with VP of MA.
    • Contribute to the building of department infrastructure, including developing, training, and educating new members of the MA team.
    • Build collaborative relationships with external KOLs, as well as key internal stakeholders including Clinical Development, Product Development, Regulatory & Reimbursement, and Engineering departments, and project teams as needed to support clinical trials data access and AI researchers.
    • Working with artificial intelligence and clinical research teams to execute on evidence generation and publication plans; supporting the preparation of manuscripts to provide clarity on clinical impact.

Education and Experience Requirements:

    • Advanced degree with research and industry experience: MD, PhD, or PharmD.
    • Experience in oncology with focus on content development.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
    • Analytical thinker with problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to travel for up to 20% of the time, depending on company needs

Nice to Haves:

    • Clinical oncology and/or pathology experience
    • Experience in oncology and biomarker-based trials
