About Us: Artera is an AI startup that develops medical artificial intelligence tests to personalize therapy for cancer patients. Artera is on a mission to personalize medical decisions for patients and physicians on a global scale.

The VP of Engineering is the leader of the engineering team and is responsible for delivering the end-to-end product at Artera.

Essential Responsibilities:

    • Lead the engineering team in designing and delivering high-quality software solutions that meet business requirements.
    • Lead the IT infrastructure function of the company including hardware and software components: facilities, data centers, servers, networking hardware desktop computers and enterprise application software solutions.
    • Lead the Cyber Security compliance function of the company.
    • Develop and implement engineering processes and standards to ensure consistency and quality across projects.
    • Collaborate with other senior leaders to define and execute the company's technology strategy.
    • Manage and allocate resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
    • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the engineering team.
    • Build and maintain a strong engineering culture that fosters innovation and continuous improvement.
    • Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in software engineering and recommend new tools and methodologies to improve our development process.
    • Work closely with the Product Strategy department to define product roadmaps and ensure that engineering resources are aligned with product priorities.
    • Work closely with the AI and Clinical Development departments to build tooling to accelerate biomarker development
    • Develop and manage relationships with external partners and vendors as needed.

Education and Experience Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree or Ph.D. degree preferred.
    • At least 10 years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
    • Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions on time and within budget.
    • Strong technical skills in software development, architecture, and design.
    • Strong technical skills in Flutter, Python, GraphQL, AWS, Kubernetes, and DevOps.
    • Experience in IT, security operations, and security compliance.
    • Experience managing and mentoring large engineering teams.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
    • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
    • Startup experience is preferred.
