ASAPP, an AI startup headquartered in downtown NYC, is seeking a Business Intelligence (BI) Manager to empower ASAPP staff and large enterprise customers to efficiently access and leverage the rich production data set of ASAPP’s intelligent platform for customer engagement to drives differentiated business value and insights.

As a member of the Customer Success team, the BI Manager is accountable for driving analytics insights throughout the organization to engage optimally with our customers, create greater efficiencies, drive new opportunities and continuous improvement to our platform by ingesting and preparing massive amounts of data for reporting, dashboards, self-service reporting. This is accomplished by producing actionable and accurate data sets that are easy to access and understand. To achieve these aims, the BI Manager must partner with the Customer Success Manager, Account Manager, and Deployment Manager supporting each customer to collect custom reporting and data integration requirements and project manage the corresponding delivery. This role works hand-in-hand with the Data Infrastructure (DI) Product and Engineering teams to build robust and scalable systems to handle and intuitive represent large internal and external data points, with new data points being ingested daily.

What you'll do:

    • Hands on analytics leader that designs and delivers end users with insights at the speed of thought through building, maintaining, and promoting ASAPP’s reporting suite to empower customers and internal staff efficient visibility to business impact, trends, problems, and opportunities
    • Act as a data subject matter expert by mastering, documenting, and training internal and external customers on the ASAPP data schema, insights tools, and reports
    • Champion and execute data visualization best practices in enterprise reporting templates, custom reports, and performance summariesPerform high priority ad hoc queries to answer business questions not answered by existing reports and teach internal and external users to fish on their own
    • Represent customers and Customer Success team in the submission and prioritization of DI requests, issues, and strategic initiatives (enhancements, bugs, tooling) and partner with the DI team on the delivery and communication
    • Partner with ASAPP Deployment team to consult customers on integrating ASAPP data into their systems (workforce management, BI, CRM, data lakes), as well as integrating customer data into ASAPP databases and reports
    • Prioritize and project manage BI projects to ensure appropriate allocation of resources and effort on various competing initiatives (enterprise reports, custom customer reports, ad hoc analysis, analysis for product enhancement, data infrastructure, tooling, documentation and training)

What you'll need:

    • 6+ years of experience in architecting and maintaining business analytics systems with a focus on end user design and training
    • Working knowledge of industry standard Data Infrastructure (e.g. Warehouse, BI, Analytics, Big-Data, etc.) tools and knowledge of database design techniques
    • Deep experience with at least one industry leading BI reporting and dashboard / scorecard design tool (e.g. QlikSense/QlikView, Tableau, Spotfire, IBM Cognos, PowerBI, Microstrategy, Wave Analytics)
    • Strong understanding of data warehousing methodologies, ETL processing and dimensional data modeling
    • Advanced SQL capabilities and experience working with extremely large, diverse data sets with complex business rules
    • Proven experience with creating a variety of impactful and intuitive data visualizations of simple and complex data inclusive of trending and segmentation
    • Demonstrated experience and ability to work with business users to gather requirements and manage scope
    • Knowledge of best practices and automated techniques for data quality assurance
    • Superior analytical skills with fluency in quantitative modeling and extraction of actionable business insights from raw data with the ability to tell a story
    • Tremendous attention to detail with the ability to quickly switch from macro to micro analysis and unwavering focus on ensuring data accuracy
    • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to present results of analysis to business and technical customers and communicate in a courteous, tactful, and concise manner
    • Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills with enthusiasm and desire to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change
    • Ability to maintain a fun, casual, professional and productive team atmosphere
    • Fluency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
    • BA/BS degree or higher (preferably in MIS, Decision Science, Computer Science, or related field)

    • Experience with variety of BI tools from which you can convey strengths and weaknesses
    • Digital analytics (implementation, tooling, metrics, variables, properties)Implementing analytics solutions in an Enterprise environment
    • Creation of extension objects using BI solution APIs
    • NLP or Conversational AI data
    • Mac, Slack, Confluence, and JIRA
    • Expertise in data extraction, manipulation, and analysis platform such as R, Python, Talend, and/or Redshift – we use Python and R internally
    • Understanding of VLDB performance aspects, such as table partitioning, sharding, table distribution and optimization techniques
