ASAPP is looking for a Staff Engineer, Security Policy Management to join our Security Assurance team.  

Security Assurance is a team within ASAPP’s Security & Trust Organization.   The main objective is to align IT security and compliance with business objectives in a structured way, while effectively managing risk and meeting compliance and regulation requirements.

What you'll do

    • Lead the design and development of the data protection program 
    • Drive the Privacy Impact Assessment process 
    • Provide architectural support of data delivery and lifecycle management
    • Support the definition and management of data classification and handling 
    • Provide guidance and Data Privacy (CCPA, GDPR, HIPAA) subject matter expertise to business and technology application owners related to personal data protection decisions, remediation planning, and associated execution activities
    • Work with internal teams to design and implement processes  and controls in the area of data protection to standardize and scale across the company

What you'll need

    • At least ten years of experience in data protection or related fields 
    • Ability to influence across all levels of the organization
    • Experience in partnering with research, engineering, product and security teams throughout the product life cycle to address compliance issues and move compliance beyond checklist 
    • Ability to exercise good judgment around the balance of compliance and business needs
    • Working experience in technical product development
