Our mission at Asimov is to advance humanity's ability to design living systems, enabling biotechnologies with outsized benefit to society. We're developing a mammalian synthetic biology platform––from cells to software––to enable the design and manufacture of next-generation therapeutics.

We’re searching for a Business Development Associate to join our Commercial Team. As a Business Development Associate, you’ll be responsible for building market awareness of Asimov and driving new business for the company. You’ll be able to grow within a business development role at an agile, forward-thinking synthetic biology startup with a global reach. This is an opportunity to help build the future of biological engineering.

About the Role:

    • Drive revenue growth: Proactively source and secure business opportunities with biopharma companies ranging from virtual organisations to big pharma in order to drive significant revenue growth.
    • Customer relationship development: Play a central role in building and nurturing relationships with clients, focusing on customer centricity.
    • Communicate Asimov’s platform technologies: Effectively convey the technical and commercial benefits of our offerings to potential clients.
    • Structure deals: Work closely with the broader Commercial Team to develop deal structures that maximise value for all parties involved.
    • Engage with industry: Represent Asimov at industry conferences, network with potential partners, and grow awareness of our technologies and services.

About You:

    • Professional experience: At least 3 years’ experience in a business development or sales role, ideally within the B2B biopharmaceutical tools and/or services sector.
    • Industry knowledge: A deep understanding of the biotherapeutics manufacturing landscape.
    • Networking skills: Ability to rapidly build rapport and effectively communicate the benefits of partnering with Asimov. You have an established and expanding network within the biopharma services and tools market.
    • Customer relationship expertise: Proven track record of growing long-term relationships with clients.
    • Technical acumen: Knowledge of cell line development and upstream process development for biologics and/or viral vectors.
    • Educational background: A Master's degree in a biologics-based discipline is preferred. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences coupled with relevant experience will be considered.
We're fueled by a vision to transform biological engineering into a fully-fledged engineering discipline. Should you join our team, you will grow with a constantly evolving organization and push the frontiers of synthetic biology. Company culture is key to Asimov, and ours is a culture of recombination; we believe that our mission can only be achieved by bringing together a diverse team with a mixture of backgrounds and perspectives.
