Favor is the food delivery app made by Texans, for Texans, and data is at the center of everything we do. The appetite for reporting and analysis increases every day as we grow and improve our programs, platforms, products, and features for our community of customers, Runners (that’s what we call Favor delivery drivers), and restaurant and retail partners.

We are looking for an analyst to join our Business Analytics team. In this role, you will leverage first- and third-party data to generate insights about our customers, Runners, partners, and products. You’ll form strong relationships with the internal stakeholder teams you support and help drive strategy and success for their respective area. Title and compensation will be informed by experience level.

What you’ll do:

    • Drive the business forward by defining and capturing key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure the impact of specific product features, programs, and operational initiatives
    • Develop and maintain a suite of self-service reporting that puts the most critical KPIs in the hands of stakeholders
    • Proactively develop and communicate recommendations to stakeholders and partner with them on successful implementation
    • Leverage customer, Runner, and marketplace data to make recommendations for best-in-class experiences
    • Analyze content performance to understand how in-app selection, pricing, display, and sort order influence engagement, with the ultimate goal of turning 100% of sessions into conversions
    • Identify and resolve gaps in data completeness and accuracy to continually improve our data ecosystem
    • Grow the collective Business Analytics team knowledge base through process documentation
    • Use analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret and synthesize large data sets and translate these data insights you’ve gained into actionable business recommendations
    • Utilize data sets in conjunction with the key business drivers that impact Favor’s three-sided marketplace to identify growth opportunities and optimize performance

Skills you have:

    • A relevant degree or comparable formal training, certification, and/or work experience
    • At least 2 years of experience working in an analytical role
    • Intermediate (or advanced) structured query language (SQL) skills with the ability to write complex queries
    • Proficiency in business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Power BI) for data visualization and reporting
    • Familiarity with tools like Data Build Tool (DBT) for data transformation workflows and data modeling and integrated development environments (IDEs) like Visual Studio Code for writing and debugging code
    • Experience with Python or R for data analysis and automation is a plus
    • An understanding of statistical analysis and data modeling and familiarity with experimental design and A/B testing methodologies are advantageous
    • An understanding of marketplace dynamics and interest in the key business drivers in a three-sided marketplace to identify growth opportunities and optimize performance

Preferred skills:

    • Familiarity in optimizing key metrics like customer lifetime value (CLV), customer acquisition cost (CAC), and paid media performance metrics (return on investment, return on advertising spend) to drive cost-effective marketing strategies and assess the long-term value of customers
    • An understanding of various customer acquisition channels, including paid media, organic growth, and referral programs
    • A proven ability to analyze partnership revenue models and market trends to optimize markup and commission structures, pricing strategies, effective promotions, and digital merchandising to drive conversions, Favor, Partner sales growth, and customer engagement
    • Familiarity working with any/all of the following is a plus: Salesforce Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud Intelligence, Braze, Branch, and/or Segment for managing sales data, campaign tracking, omnichannel engagement, mobile attribution, and customer data acquisition, Snowflake and/or similar modern cloud data architecture (e.g. Databricks, Redshift) for data warehousing, including performance tuning, data storage, and retrieval optimizations

Who you are:

    • You are someone with a high dynamic range. You can see the big picture but are comfortable diving deep into the details to ensure accuracy and consistency.
    • You are forward-thinking and persistent. You think two steps ahead to identify potential roadblocks and have contingency plans to address them. You have a strong sense of ownership and accountability with the grit to ensure tasks are completed.
    • You are narrative oriented. You connect changes in top-level metrics to the underlying drivers and create compelling visualizations to drive home key findings.
    • You are action oriented. You are always up for a challenge and view reporting and analysis as an opportunity to recommend tactics and strategies that make the business better. You are open to feedback in the interest of delivering continually better output and growing as a professional.
    • You are teamwork oriented. You know how and when to effectively engage with your stakeholders and your teammates. You view yourself as a partner in the decision-making process and build trust through goal alignment, process transparency, and world-class output.
    • You are someone who prioritizes positive stakeholder relationships. You’re able to make decisions with the wisdom to change course as soon as needed while balancing stakeholder dynamics and collaborating with a diverse group of individuals.
    • You are an effective communicator. You constructively communicate your ideas in written and verbal formats, particularly in a presentation setting with an audience of varying technical knowledge levels.
