Aspiration is looking for a Lead Product Designer to lead a team of talented product designers, providing direction, mentorship, and lead cross-functional projects. We’re looking for people that are curious thinkers and want to help build our design culture as we scale up our organization.
The ideal candidate will be able to instill a strong design practice, influence product strategy, and impact our product execution and quality.

What You'll Do

    • Work closely with Head of Design to understand brand/product vision
    • Establish shared vision across teams and build consensus on priorities leading to implementation
    • Influence product strategy across company products
    • Ensure team has a high bar of craft and systematic thinking
    • Driving alignment and partnerships with leadership and internal product partners
    • Oversee communication of design language, quality and accessibility standards
    • Oversee design execution to create compelling solutions that address our users’ needs
    • Push the boundaries of the design team’s UI/UX execution and explore divergent concepts
    • Accelerate team efficiency by improving processes and workflows with the design team
    • Mentor a team of designers and provide design direction based on team vision
    • Lead projects effectively and substantiate the decisions behind the work
    • Advocate for user-centered design

What You'll Bring

    • 8+ years of experience in Product Design
    • 5+ years management experience growing individual contributors
    • Experience growing a strategic design practice within a matrixed organization
    • A track record of leading design teams through successful product launches
    • Experience recruiting, hiring, and retaining multi-disciplinary design teams
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent portfolio that demonstrates love and care for their craft
    • Ability to think big and understand complex feature sets
    • Ability to lead projects from end to end and collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers
    • Ability to take conceptual solutions from wireframe to prototyping
    • Experience creating documentation to communicate intent, interaction states, and behaviors
    • Proficiency in mapping and articulating basic user journeys
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
    • Experience working with design systems
    • Strong understanding of iOS and Android native app patterns
    • Strong understanding of visual design basics (color theory, typography, spacing)
    • Strong understanding of digital design fundamentals (forms, interaction methods, responsive design, etc.)
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
