Team: Billing Department
Reports to: Billing Manager / Revenue Cycle Lead
Location: Remote, company VPN required
Equipment: Company laptop will be shipped to the hire.
What you’ll do
●Perform high-volume, accurate data entry of patient demographics, CPT/ICD codes, charges, and payments.
●Conduct insurance eligibility & benefits verification (phone/portal), document outcomes, and flag discrepancies.
●Confirm prior authorizations and coverage limits as needed.
●Research & resolve claim edits/denials and missing info with providers, patients, and payers.
●Maintain daily work queues (submissions, rejections, resubmits) within SLAs.
●Follow HIPAA and company security policies; work via company VPN at all times.
●Prepare daily reports: claims submitted, verifications completed, denials worked, $ value impacted.
Must-have qualifications
●1–3+ years in medical billing / revenue cycle / insurance verification (clinic, hospital, RCM/BPO, or payer).
●Solid knowledge of U.S. insurance (commercial, Medicare/Medicaid), EOB/ERA, and basic CPT/ICD.
●Experience with billing systems/clearinghouses (e.g., Kareo, DrChrono, Athena, AdvancedMD, OfficeAlly, Waystar, Availity).
●Typing 45+ WPM, high accuracy, strong Excel/Google Sheets.
●Excellent written & spoken English; comfortable on payer/provider calls.
●Stable internet and power backup; able to use MFA and secure password tools.
Nice to have
●Denials/AR follow-up experience; prior auth workflows.
●Familiarity with HIPAA, PHI handling, and basic RCM KPIs.
●Night shift / U.S. time zone experience.
