The Director, Customer Marketing, will play an integral role in improving these lives will be responsible for building a customer marketing practice that deeply understands Assurance’s customers and ensuring that we are bringing products and services to market that uniquely meet their needs. This role reports to the SVP of Marketing.

This role is highly flexible, but hybrid, anticipate 15% in the Seattle office.

The leader in this role will have 3 primary areas of responsibility:

Customer Research
This person will develop and lead customer research efforts and be responsible for using these insights to influence everything from product roadmap to marketing initiatives to strategic investments. 

Segmentation and Customer Personas
This person will build customer segmentation and personas based on this research, and then develop the right value propositions and messages for these customers. 

Customer Solution Development and Go-To-Market
Armed with a deep understanding of the customer and having developed resonant value propositions, this person will guide the development of meaningful products and solutions and lead the go-to-market of these solutions.

Across these 3 areas of responsibility, this person will:

    • Develop a best-in-class team that deeply understands and empathizes with the customers that Assurance serves
    • Be a customer champion, infusing customer obsession and customer-centric thinking throughout the organization
    • Use customer insights to inform company strategy and direction
    • Partner with key marketing stakeholders, including content and lifecycle marketing, on key customer-facing campaigns and initiatives

The ideal candidate will have:

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
    • 8+ years of marketing experience in a discipline that is highly customer centric such as customer marketing, product marketing, customer experience or audience marketing Preference is for B2C experience, but any marketer who has a track record of deep customer empathy will be successful
    • Built and developed teams, both in person and remote
    • Run customer research and developed customer segmentations and personas
    • Been instrumental in the planning and development of customer solutions and experiences based on customer needs
    • Demonstrated success in managing external vendors and agencies
    • Worked in both small/startup and large/established companies
