Role

    • Drive the selection and qualification of high quality EEE components for current and future flight vehicles, includes advising designers on parts selection based on part reliability and manufacturing processes and participation in design reviews, DFM, DFx, and FMEAs
    • Generate plans, procedures, and EEE part procurement and screening documents
    • Review screening and test data received from manufacturers and test laboratories for compliance to specifications, purchase order requirements, and program contract compliance.
    • Assist in maintaining the approved component library in Astranis’s Product Lifecycle Management system.
    • Evaluate defective components and failure analysis reports as required. Interface internally with Electrical Design Engineers, Reliability Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Quality Engineers in support of risk mitigation and material review efforts.
    • Perform and review key reliability analyses: failure prediction, FMECA, etc.
    • Support prototype and production activities at domestic vendors 

Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline
    • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role
    • 2+ years of experience in one or more of the following areas: semiconductor physics, physics of failure, accelerated testing, design for reliability, EEE component design

Bonus

    • Knowledge of accelerated test profiles for component-level screening and qualification testing
    • Understanding of HALT/HASS and SMC test profiles
    • Understanding of reliability assessments methodologies
    • Knowledge of supplier quality processes: production part approval process, advanced product quality planning, first article inspection reports, product lifecycle management systems, etc.
    • Experience performing failure analysis and destructive physical analysis investigations to provide corrective actions and paths to closure
