Software Engineer - System Modelling

As a System Modelling engineer you will build the tools used by the engineering and commercial teams to evaluate current and upcoming missions, and current and next generation payload architectures. You will work closely with the communication systems team, antenna team, and flight software, and ground software team.


    • Build the python simulation framework for projecting antenna patterns onto the earth, calculating link performance, simulating rain fade, pointing error events, outage/failure events, etc.
    • Develop analytic tools which are stable, fast, scalable, modular, intuitive, well documented, and widely used
    • Learn about the system level trades in high throughput satellite communication networks, and help use the analytic tools to generate key insights as to how the network design can be improved
    • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly-growing team.


    • Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a similar discipline 
    • Experience with Python, or other high-level object-oriented programming language(s)
    • Experience building simulations of physical systems
    • Experience writing user-facing applications involving a graphical interface, either as a web frontend or a standalone application
    • Effective English language communication skills, both written and oral.


    • Experience in satellite systems modelling
    • Previous experience building models for LEO, MEO, or GEO satellite communications systems
    • Experience with version control systems (git, mercurial, sv, or others)
