Atlassian is looking for an experienced and talented Senior Engineer to join the Growth Activation Team. This is a unique team, the first of its kind in our Mountain View office, working closely with product, platform and data science teams. The team’s mission is to take on the biggest opportunities for Atlassian to accelerate its growth, bringing us closer to our company wide mission to scale to 100 million MAU.

As a Senior Engineer you are encouraged to drive the team to deliver measurable impact iteratively. You will work in an autonomous, empowered, and creative position; it’s your chance to show ambitious moves, be curious and seek the "why" and "why not". You are able to dive into both qualitative and quantitative data, build up a deep understanding of customers, and stay nimble as the team charts a course towards success. You’re comfortable driving feature delivery end to end and pivoting the strategy and be creative with decisions based on product and design sense seeking maximum impact. You want to validate ideas quickly and be proactive to make the right things happen.

This is a unique opportunity to question the limitations in the way we onboard new users to our products, leveraging analytics to build up understanding of what makes different types of customers successful, and utilizing our segmentation platform to deliver targeted experiences. The team works across a broad range of technical stacks and operates with a philosophy of build, measure and learn.

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
• 5+ years of industry experience working as a software engineer
 •  Experience with Javascript, CSS, HTML, and frameworks such as Angular or React
 •  Familiarity with A/B testing
 •  Good understanding of front-end architecture and data-driven development
 •  Experience with SQL and basic data and numerical analysis

It's great, but not required if you have:
 •  Familiarity with backend tech stacks (preferably Java)
 •  Experience with growth experimentation techniques and implementation
 •  Experience with large scale distributed systems
 •  Understanding of basic statistical concepts like Confidence Intervals and statistical tests for experiments & trials
