Atomic is looking for a Manager, Management Company Finance to help drive our finance function. This role will be involved in everything from financial reporting for the Management Company to portfolio company invoicing to cashflow analysis and budgeting. 

Position Overview: Manager, Management Company Finance 
Location: New York, Miami, or San Francisco (Boston also considered for ideal candidate)
Reporting to: Canny Chen, Controller (NYC based)

Reporting to the Controller, the Manager, Management Company Finance will serve as an integral member of the finance team, helping to manage a broad range of accounting, finance, treasury, operations, and tax items across the Atomic Management Company, with potential exposure to other finance areas as appropriate. This individual will not only help drive the day-to-day financial operations but will also play an integral role in helping the Controller and CFO uplevel the finance function of Atomic – enhancing policies and procedures, evaluating service providers, and ensuring the overall finance function is best-in-class. The ideal candidate will be a humble team player that puts the firm first and can operate well in the details while also maintaining the bigger picture.

Responsibilities:
- Own general ledger and financial reporting for the Atomic Management Company
- Manage monthly portfolio company chargeback process, which includes in-depth time and expense analysis. 
- Manage cash and treasury function for applicable entities.
- Manage AP/AR, Brex, and interface with HR as required for certain benefit costs.
- Perform monthly breakdown of legal costs and work with GC to get invoices approved and allocated correctly across Atomic entities.
- Assist with budget function for the firm, including the preparation of monthly cash and forecasting analysis for Controller and CFO review.
- Help coordinate the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns for the Management Company entities with the Atomic Director of Tax and the external accounting firm. 
- Ensure compliance with current policies and procedures as well as develop new ones as appropriate.
- Lead/support system upgrades for Management Company finance as needed.
- Work with the rest of the finance team to implement best practices across the finance and accounting functions.
- Ad hoc finance/accounting projects as needed. 


Qualifications:
- 6-8 years of experience – must have prior Management Company experience.
- The ideal candidate will be current Manager level at word-class venture studio, venture fund, or private equity fund, with earlier experience in a Big 4 (or other top tier) accounting firm.
- Demonstrated success on a high caliber team working on tight timelines with competing priorities.
- Prior history working with a team to make meaningful impact to finance organization; this is not a role for someone who just wants to keep the trains moving.
- Ability to effectively communicate technical topics/issues to upper-level executives, both verbal and written.
- Strong technical expertise in Management Company accounting with at least some tax experience preferred.
- Proficiency with GL software and interest in financial reporting systems.
- Experience with QBO, Brex, BILL, Expensify is heavily preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to understand and maintain complex financial models.
- CPA license.

$130,000 - $150,000 a year
