The Role
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Controller to join our dynamic and motivated team.
 
As a Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial activities of our organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting and accounting processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of financial principles, and the ability to lead a team to achieve financial goals.

Who you are

    • Manage all accounting operations of the company, including accounts payable, billing, accounts receivable, payroll entries, and general ledger accounting
    • Responsible for oversight of monthly financial statement close procedures, including quarterly and annual reviews and adjustments, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses
    • Drive the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance
    • Manage audits of the business by working closely with external auditing firms at all stages for the purpose of ensuring accuracy in reporting. Act as the primary liaison for external auditors during operational and financial audits
    • Provide and support analysis on financial results (trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, departmental reporting, etc.) for management and investors
    • Review key performance metrics (financial and business metrics) to improve existing reports and develop new reports
    • Foster strong working relationships across the businesses, and work proactively to identify opportunities for finance to act as a strategic business partner
    • Optimize tasks to increase efficiency and accuracy, include driving the design of automation for the business
    • Assist with due diligence review of contracts/agreements and ensure contract administration activities meet requirements of internal corporate stakeholders (i.e. risk, legal, project management, etc.) and corporate standards
    • Create profit and loss statements for each customer
    • Complete US and CA tax returns with outside tax advisors

What we neeed

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting plus a CPA designation preferably from a big 4 audit firm
    • 10+ years of experience within a fast-paced and dynamic environment
    • Proven and successful experience in progressive management and financial/accounting analysis experience in a managerial position.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex accounting topics into understandable summaries.
    • High familiarity with the use of financial software, ideally including Dynamics 365 Business Central.  Jet report skills is considered an asset
    • Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to see the “big picture” in a complex and changing business environment
    • Previous experience working within a technology and/ or manufacturing environment preferred
