About the Role
As a Controller, you will play a critical role in scaling the finance organization and ensuring a robust foundation of financial controls, reporting, and operational excellence. This executive will oversee the Accounting, Billing and Collections, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Tax teams—driving accuracy, efficiency, and compliance across all areas. You’ll be a trusted partner to the CFO and a core contributor to building scalable infrastructure in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

What You’ll Accomplish

    • Lead the Accounting Function: Ensure timely, accurate financial reporting across monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles in accordance with US GAAP.
    • Manage Key Functions: Directly oversee Accounting, Billing and Collections, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Tax teams, ensuring operational rigor and alignment.
    • Build & Mentor Talent: Lead and develop a high-performing team, promoting a culture of ownership, accountability, and professional growth.
    • Strengthen Internal Controls: Own SOX 404 compliance and ensure the integrity of financial systems, controls, and reporting processes.
    • Drive Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for automation and improvement across accounting operations; partner with IT to implement scalable solutions.
    • Audit & Compliance: Lead all external audit engagements and statutory filings across jurisdictions; ensure preparedness and transparency in all reviews.
    • Technical Accounting & Policy: Own the adoption of new accounting standards; develop and maintain accounting policies and documentation.
    • Cross-functional Partnership: Work closely with FP&A, Legal, and other stakeholders to support strategic decisions and maintain financial alignment across the company.
    • Risk & Compliance: Monitor and proactively address financial risks; maintain adherence to evolving regulatory and compliance standards.
    • Liaise with the Audit Committee and senior business leadership to ensure financial systems, processes, and internal controls support the company’s strategic goals and scale effectively with the business.

Your Expertise

    • Experience: 15+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, with 5+ years in a senior leadership role. SaaS or high-growth technology company experience is required. Public company or IPO-prep experience strongly preferred.
    • Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of US GAAP, SOX, and technical accounting. Skilled in managing audits, implementing standards, and scaling accounting functions.
    • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead distributed teams, build high-performing cultures, and influence across the organization.
    • Strategic & Operational: Strong business acumen with the ability to think strategically while managing detailed operational execution.
    • Cross-Functional Partner: Proven collaborator with experience partnering closely with FP&A, Legal, Tax, and IT teams.
    • Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA required.
    • Preferred: Prior Big 4 public accounting experience; experience managing Payroll and Tax teams in a global environment.

For US based applicants:
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $275,000 - $325,000 annually + equity + benefits
- Equity is a substantial part of the total compensation package
- Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location
