We are looking for an experienced Senior Technical Writer to join our team who will be responsible for planning, creating and maintaining educational content that empowers our internal teams and customers to effectively use our products. The content is often in the form of documentation, but may also be UI text, sample code, videos, or other educational material. 

You will work collaboratively with Product, Product Marketing, Sales Engineering, and Client Strategy and will do hands-on research and obtain necessary technical content from subject matter experts while translating it into clear, concise, structured documentation. This means sometimes you are documenting something yourself, sometimes you are editing contributed content from someone else, and other times you are fixing and reorganizing existing documentation.

Responsibilities

    • Researching/crowd-sourcing information on our tools by using available resources and having conversations with subject matter experts
    • Ability to create and maintain a series of sustainable certification curricula for staff, clients and partners
    • Work with Product to thoroughly document technical feature sets and create educational content for different audiences
    • Work with Product Marketing to create client-facing materials including training guides, and videos
    • Work with Sales and Sales Engineering to concisely and completely answer technical client questions on an ad hoc basis in a client-friendly manner

Skills & Qualifications

    • 6-8 years of experience working in B2B SaaS and/or enterprise software industry experience, 3+ year of technical writing or instructional design experience
    • Experience creating technical documentation for non-technical audiences
    • The ability to take in large quantities of complex information and organize/distill in a way that’s useful for different audience types
    • Understand instructional design principles
    • Enjoys explaining new and complex concepts to both experts and non-experts
    • Comfortable managing many projects and deadlines across a variety of stakeholders
    • In-depth knowledge of web development or coding in some form or another
    • Proven record of developing educational materials in a variety of formats including documentation, videos, training curriculums, and more
