We’re spearheaded by a bunch of awesome individuals, and our guess is that you’re pretty awesome, too. We’re ultra-proud of the inclusive company we’ve built to date. Attest is not just an exciting place to work alongside great people, but a feeling – one of belonging and adventure. We’re delighted that you’ve taken the first step to becoming an Attester by expressing an interest in who we are and what we do.

About the Operations team

The Operations team – with functions spanning Finance, Strategy and Legal –  plays a crucial role at Attest – we get things done. We’re pivotal in ensuring the cogs keep turning, and that the best decisions for the company are being made at all times. We implement and manage scalable consistency and ensure that our ultimate priorities, as a business, are being met. We work in a complementary capacity with all departments, whether that be in an advisory or functional capacity.

About the role

This is a newly created role in a fast moving, energetic and dynamic scale-up where you’ll be the first permanent member of our growing Finance team, working in a complementary capacity with all teams across the business, whether that be in an advisory or functional capacity.

Sitting within Operations, you will report into our Finance Leader (currently hiring, so in the meantime you’ll report to our CEO and General Counsel).

The mission for this role is to …

Be our resident expert in all things finance, playing a pivotal role in establishing and professionalising our finance function to support the continued growth and success of Attest and create future proof finance capabilities at Attest.

You will spend your time...

Implementing and managing scalable consistency across our finance function, underpinned by robust internal procedures and protocols, ensuring they are adhered to and are legally compliant while balancing these against the company’s size, values, and strategic priorities.

Being proactive in identifying revenue growth, cost reduction and risk management opportunities, including providing finance training to teams within the business as appropriate.

Developing systems and processes that optimise every element of the accounting process from basic bookkeeping right through to working capital and cashflow management. Introducing automation and self-service capabilities to drive efficiency and accuracy whenever possible.

Building a structured FP&A function to help us identify where we should be investing more or less of our money and working with the appropriate teams within the business to define the processes needed to build and maintain that function, as well as execute against our company strategy, including carrying out financial modelling, and evaluating financial information to advise our senior leaders accordingly;

Work with the growing Finance function to provide accurate and timely management accounts and reporting.  Periodic and ad-hoc reporting, including pension and company secretarial administration, and other significant business changes such as fundraising.

Keep our accounting records up to date and oversee our financial processes, including everything from running payroll, to working with our sales enablement team to implement new processes/tools to automate manual tasks, such as issuing and tracking invoices and payments automatically once a contract is signed.

Who you are and what you’ll bring to Attest

To succeed in this position…

• You are a fully qualified accountant, with a few years post-qualified experience (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• You have a mixture of experience of working in an accounting firm as well as in-house.
• You have demonstrable knowledge and experience using a variety of relevant finance tools, e.g. Xero, Salesforce, etc.; advanced Excel skills; and experience dealing with an ecosystem of other vital third parties. Experience of introducing and implementing new third-party providers also very welcome.
• You are a hands-on self-starter, used to working autonomously. You are as comfortable getting your hands dirty, as you are working on strategic, high-value, finance objectives.
• You are used to working flexibly and enjoy the energy and fast-moving pace of working in a high-growth company, and can handle the ever-evolving priorities and complexities.
