About the role                                 
 
You are an experienced Compliance professional with at least 8 years of experience working in corporate compliance driving organizational policy and excellence and developing and refining compliance programs. You are enthusiastic about developing a long-term career within a rapidly expanding organization. You will work with the Head of Compliance to drive understanding and adherence to key policies and related industry practices throughout the organisation and manage team members within the Corporate Compliance team. You will be comfortable giving operational compliance advice and influencing senior leaders to drive the evolution and effectiveness of the compliance program.

You will support the Group Head of Compliance, leading on core compliance policies and processes across the organisation.

What you'll do

    • Providing expert advice to key stakeholders on all compliance matters and their application within Avalere Health
    • Delivering compliance related training
    • Performing compliance risk assessments
    • Design and implement compliance risk management processes
    • Supporting group risk assessment process
    • Produce and implement strategies and controls to manage compliance risks
    • Embedding and Monitoring compliance with the Avalere Health Compliance Program
    • Manage data protection issues and requests
    • Investigate Breaches
    • Handle some Complaints
    • Collaborate on responses to due diligence questionnaires.
    • Oversee the Policy Governance Group
    • Drive the Compliance Communications plan
    • Provide advice and guidance to colleagues on compliance-related queries and help lead the Corporate Compliance program and team.

About you

    • Implementation of compliance operations: including policy drafting and maintenance, training and education, monitoring and review, and investigations
    • Knowledge of corporate legislation (including anti-bribery, modern slavery, data protection)
    • Experience of conducting 2nd line monitoring and assurance of regulatory and compliance risks as part of an Enterprise Risk Management Framework.
    • Excellent written and spoken communication skills and pragmatic approach to governance and change
    • Strong personal skills: approachable and independent; able to apply tenacity where necessary, strong influencing skills
    • Ability to deal professionally with external and internal parties at all levels
    • An enquiring and analytical mind with good investigative skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Must be able to work under pressure occasionally, prioritise workloads and plan ahead to achieve deadlines
    • Be an efficient, effective team player
    • Keep up to date with applicable regulations, Compliance policies and procedures, general industry practices
    • Detail oriented self-starter
    • Pragmatic project planning and management skills to enable business goals
    • Ability to spot trends and improve the efficiency of compliance risk systems and controls
    • Ability to build positive relationships at all levels including to Executive Board

Desirable

    • Knowledge and understanding of healthcare compliance and the applicable legal and regulatory framework
    • Line management experience
