About the role
This is a high-profile role, operating on the Avalere Health Consulting Leadership Forum and reporting to the Head of Training.

Avalere Health Consulting leads strategic engagements with clients and is comprised of three main areas; Advisory, Expert Partnerships and Training. Our Training team is currently comprised of experienced professionals across multiple sub-teams; Learning Strategy, Client Services, Digital Learning. They work in lock step with central Consulting teams including Project Management and Medical Writing. Team members are currently based across North America and Europe and we have a ‘one team’ structure, with team members from any country or sub-team working together to best meet the needs of our clients.

The Head of Client Delivery will directly lead our delivery teams across our Training capability. You will act as a strong internal leader, and will be accountable for ensuring we have the right delivery model, skills and expertise, and the best culture to deliver great work for our clients profitably. You will work closely with our Head of Sales, who is accountable for achieving our new business and sales goals, and be accountable for profitably hitting our revenue goals.

What you'll do

    • Embed a culture of high performance, collaboration and commercial thinking across the team
    • Ensure we have a clear structure, in line with the Consulting vision, with clear reporting lines and good ways of working across the team
    • Ensure we are developing people appropriately, building and acquiring the right skills now and for the future
    • Ensure we have consistent objective setting, performance monitoring, improvements and management
    • Ensure exceptional delivery of projects that meet client needs and company profitability and efficiency goals
    • Provide coaching and support to delivery team to ensure high standards across projects
    • Establish efficient and profitable ways of working across Consulting and other teams within Avalere Health
    • Work with our Senior Operations Director to ensure excellent ways of working, pricing, commercial and project management
    • Work with our Resource Manager to ensure we have the right people resourced to projects at the right team, to meet client and business demands
    • Work with our Head of Medical Writing to ensure effective ways of working and high quality delivery for all writing and editing requirements
    • Risk management across clients, our team and finances
    • Accountable for delivering to our revenue goals

About you

    • Significant experience of running a successful and growing Training organisation, or large Training team within a broader organisation, overseeing revenues in the region of $10-15m per annum.
    • Successful track record or growing multi-functional teams, retaining high calibre staff and developing junior team members.
    • Extensive healthcare experience, with expertise across emerging biopharma and large pharma clients and a good network of potential clients and candidates.
    • Experience coaching and mentoring very senior members of the team and developing/managing across levels of experience.
    • Experience delivering projects across Avalere Health’s core Training services
    • Extensive internal change management experience, helping guide teams through new organisational structures, operating models and systems.
    • Ability to take ownership of challenging workstreams and situations, delivering exceptional results.
    • Strong leadership behaviours, supporting a culture of diversity and inclusion, collaboration and accountability individually and across the team.
