About the role
We are seeking an ambitious and forward-thinking senior director to join Avalere Health’s specialist market access consultancy capability, Policy Access, Value and Evidence (PAVE). This is a leadership team role within the PAVE Global Value Engagement (GVE) practice and is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in a mid-sized consultancy.
This role includes shaping, selling and delivering both traditional and innovative global value engagement market access consultancy solutions to meet the current and emerging needs of pharma/ biotech global market access teams. The senior director will report into the GVE Practice Lead and will be expected to take a leadership role within the GVE practice to shape and own the strategic direction of a set of global value engagement service offerings. This role is hands on selling and project delivery, responsible and accountable for the highest levels of payer strategic insight, technical content, commercial acumen, client and financial management.
What you'll do
Duties will include developing, selling and hands-on delivery of consultancy solutions (client management, project leadership/ management and content) which enable global market access clients to shift national and sub-national payer beliefs to secure both national market access and fully enabled in-market patient access.
GVE practice consultancy solutions include traditional and innovative iterations of global value pack resources, developing and implementing cross-functional frameworks to support strategic planning for patient access and tracking/defending quality of access achieved, value excellence training solutions for global market access cross-functional teams and payer thought leadership to support client business goals. Many of the GVE practice consultancy solutions include integral payer insight methodologies such as payer depth interviews and payer advisory boards.
The successful candidate will need to combine their depth and breadth of experience in global market archetypes, strategic thinking, commercial acumen, critical appraisal and robust scientific storytelling skills with their natural curiosity to drive to innovation to play their part in shaping our growing consultancy offer.
About you
Minimum 15+ years of experience in specialist market access consultancy with a proven track record across a wide range of global market access consultancy project types. This experience needs to include selling and hands-on delivery (client management, project leadership and management and content delivery)
Extensive experience of interpreting complex clinical and health economic data sets to create technically robust and credible content e.g., experience of having personally developed global value dossiers, global payer value propositions, global payer objection handlers, payer evidence summaries, HTA submissions/tender dossiers and payer audience thought leadership white papers.
Creative flair for cutting through technical complexity to develop high impact “snackable” visual content that will drive payer behavioural change e.g., interactive infographics and PowerPoint payer narrative flows.
Experience of gathering payer insight through depth interviews and advisory board facilitation.
Deep understanding of the challenges and best practice ways of working pharma/ biotech global market access teams need to navigate pre-launch and up to loss of exclusivity to ensure payer beliefs are shifted nationally and sub-nationally to drive fully enabled in-market patient access.
High awareness of how changes in the external environment are shaping what global market access clients need and curiosity and drive to develop and implement new consultancy solutions which meet that those emerging needs.
Experience and gravitas to shape and facilitate free-flowing strategic discussions with senior clients.
High drive and resilience to juggle, and support others juggle, multiple priorities and to be a role model for flexible course-correction.
Strong team player to proactively support both the wider GVE practice and the wider PAVE consultancy team with selling and delivery as needed.
Experienced, supportive line manager with outstanding work ethic, commitment and organisational skills to deliver timely, high-quality work.
Exemplary proficiency in written and verbal English.
