About the role

Our US Marketing People team is growing and looking to hire an experienced People Business Partner to support our Canadian operations. You will utilize your Canadian employment legal expertise. As a member of the Marketing People team this role will provide support to the leaders and employees by driving initiatives that impact employee engagement, leadership and management development, organizational change and structure, and performance management. 

What you'll do

    • Provide leadership coaching support to include line managers and the respective leadership team in all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
    • Ensure the capability is delivering on approved fiscal year key metrics/KPI’s keeping an eye on performance and productivity across capability.
    • Partner with assigned Finance Business Partner to provide data driven insights and recommendations.
    • Deliver and champion people programs led by the Center of Excellence teams: Diversity & Inclusion, Career Experience, Talent Acquisition and People Operations.
    • Lead talent management and workforce planning activities.
    • Lead organizational design and restructuring activities for capability group when necessary.
    • Coach leaders to successfully manage all fiscal year people management processes (performance management, compensation planning, etc.).
    • Conduct effective, thorough and objective investigations and provide appropriate management recommendations.
    • Partner with Talent Acquisition lead on recruiting and staffing in support of the capability’s workforce plan.
    • Partner and support leaders, managers and employees across business unit teams on day-to-day operational processes, providing guidance and expertise.
    • Ensure compliance with Canadian employment laws and governance.
    • Foster a high performing, high engagement culture to ensure our people are productive, engaged and motivated.
    • Demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, ensuring that this forms the foundation to our processes and decisions.

About you

    • Bachelor’s degree (BA) in Human Resources, Business Management or equivalent preferred
    • 5+ years of increasing scope and responsibilities in HR including HR administration, employee relations, benefits administration, policy development, HR systems implementation and HR data insights
    • Must be located in Canada
    • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
    • Strong Knowledge of employment law and regulations - Federal, State and local
    • HR Certification preferred (PHR, SHRM-CP)
    • Ability to effectively influence, consult with and coach senior leaders and managers
    • Demonstrates confidence and resilience when engaging with colleagues at all levels
    • Navigates and leverage HR systems to gather data to support internal client consultation
    • Demonstrates and foster collaboration among peers and global HR team
    • Builds trusted partnerships and work effectively with people at all levels
    • Strategically prioritizes time and problem solves against most impactful activities and initiatives
    • An excellent communicator, both written and verbal, with the ability to educate and influence through formal and informal communications.
    • Maintains current understanding of related employment laws, concepts and practices related to the administration of a variety of human resources programs.
    • Demonstrates experience in organization development such as organization design and change management
