About the role
Avalere is seeking a Market Engagement Manager (MEM) to join our Client Partnerships practice, a core sales function that drives sales, business development, and revenue generation activities across the firm. The MEM will equip sales teams with the sales enablement support, content, and tactical organization they need to successfully engage buyers, and work collaboratively between sales, marketing, and subject matter experts to increase revenue, shorten the sales cycle, and improve forecast accuracy.

Based in Washington, DC, we work with a diverse range of clients spanning pharmaceuticals, biotech, health plans, government, providers, advocacy and patient groups, and other organizations who seek to improve the healthcare system. Avalere’s experts span 150+ staff drawn from Fortune 500 healthcare companies, the federal government (e.g., CMS, OMB, CBO, Congress), top consultancies, and nonprofits. The firm offers deep substance and perspective on the full range of healthcare business issues.
What you'll do
- Support development of the Business Development Strategy for assigned functional sales areas.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales enablement strategy that drives achievement of the goals in the Business Development Strategy.
- Design and maintain sales enablement tools, centralized resources, and content, including playbooks, sales scripts, and presentations.
- Create and administer email outreach campaigns through sales automation tools like, Outreach.io to generate new pipeline.
- Create target lists of new prospects through contact databases like LinkedIn and Zoominfo.com to use in outreach campaigns.
- Collaborate with marketing to ensure alignment of sales and marketing strategies, and to create compelling sales collateral.
- Analyze sales processes and performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
- Provide ongoing support to the sales team, including new hire onboarding and continuous education.
- Create, manage, and deliver training programs and materials to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the sales team.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of sales enablement initiatives, using data and feedback to drive continuous improvement.
- Stay current with industry trends, sales techniques, and competitive landscape to ensure the sales team has a competitive edge.
- Drive proposal development for a subset of opportunities.
Key performance indicators
- KPIs:
- Percentage of Account Executives and Initiatives achieving their sales quotas.
- Volume of pipeline generated from outreach activities
- Frequency and effectiveness of sales materials being used by the sales team.
- Correlation between content usage and sales success (e.g., higher close rates when certain materials are used).
- Feedback from sellers on the usefulness and quality of enablement programs and resources.

About you
- Bachelor's degree (and/or equivalent years of experience)
- Working knowledge of healthcare issues and the life sciences industry
- 3+ years experience in a high-performance sales organization in sales, enablement, or learning and development
- Strong understanding of the sales environment, including sales content, tools and training
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) platforms (e.g., Salesforce), content management, and learning management systems
- Demonstrated ability to build internal relationships with sales and marketing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in preparing and proofing documents for senior-level audience
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment
- Strong ability to multi-task and can prioritize work streams effectively under deadline, with timely execution and resolution of action items
- Highly organized with strong project management skills
- Exceptional communication skills
- Ethical, confident, and creative, with a persistent "can do" attitude
- Commitment to working in a team environment with an emphasis on collaboration and maintaining positive relationship with colleagues and clients to achieve solutions-oriented goals
- Proactive mindset and approach, ability to think several steps ahead of known client and teammate needs, and suggest improvements to existing processes

NOTE: This role is not primarily a digital marketing or customer service role, so candidates with work experience exclusively in those areas are unlikely to advance in the evaluation process.
$85,000 - $105,000 a year
Salary based on level of experience
