Position Overview:
Aventon is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of IT, Web Development and Operations to guide our frontend department and drive the strategic direction of our technology initiatives. The Director of IT, Web Development and Operations will be responsible for overseeing the development and maintenance of our e-commerce platform and ensuring alignment with our ERP system and backend technology teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on e-commerce web front-end development and Shopify operations. This role requires deep expertise in managing Shopify-based platforms and front-end development to ensure a seamless and engaging user experience. The ideal candidate will have worked closely with Marketing or Growth departments, bringing extensive experience in e-commerce environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- E-commerce Platform Oversight: Lead the management and continuous optimization of Aventon’s Shopify-based e-commerce platform, ensuring a superior online shopping experience and driving sales growth.
- Web Front-End Development: Oversee all front-end development efforts related to Shopify, implementing user-friendly features, optimizing site performance, and addressing technical issues to maintain platform stability.
- Department and Team Support: Provide guidance and support to the frontend/web team, encouraging high standards of performance and innovation, and assisting in achieving project goals.
- Strategic Planning & Implementation: Develop and execute a comprehensive technology roadmap that prioritizes front-end development, aligns with Aventon’s business objectives, and leverages the full capabilities of Shopify to enhance competitiveness.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Operations, Marketing, Branding, and other teams focused on user experience to understand business requirements, align technology initiatives with organizational goals, and successfully execute strategic projects.
- Vendor Management: Oversee relationships with external technology vendors and service providers, ensuring effective collaboration and high-quality delivery of Shopify-related solutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in IT leadership roles with a successful track record in managing Shopify-based e-commerce platforms and independent e-commerce sites.
- Strong background in leading e-commerce initiatives, with hands-on experience in managing web front-end teams and driving development efforts, particularly in Shopify-based environments.
- Experience working closely with Marketing or Growth departments in an e-commerce company, with a deep understanding of how IT can support business objectives in these areas.
- Strong technical expertise in front-end development for e-commerce, with proficiency in HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and modern web development frameworks.
- Proven ability to guide and collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve common objectives.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with robust problem-solving abilities, a results-oriented mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
$175,000 - $250,000 a year
