About the role
We are seeking a Corporate Finance Controller who will be responsible for undertaking all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, as well as development of internal controls policies & processes and establish financial risk management. We are looking for a strong team player who thrives working in an environment where they collaborate and business partner with various functions outside of finance.
-Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including Billing, AR, AP, GL, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
-Issue timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
-Assess current accounting operations for step-function improvements and implementation of new processes, work with one of the “Big 4” firms to conduct financial audits
-Take an active role in establishing processes to ensure compliance with technical accounting standards (e.g., ASC 606 & ASC 842)
-Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
-Manage and comply with local, state, and federal gov’t reporting requirements and tax filings
-Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
-Ability to build relationships and influence cross-functionally, across different levels to get things done.
-Additional ad hoc duties as required
-15+ years of experience in accounting and finance through a combination of public accounting and industry experience
-Demonstrated controllership experience: 3-5 years’ experience managing accountants and the accounting and finance process.
-Demonstrated experience working with Big 4 to conduct the company’s financial audit
-Impeccable knowledge and working proficiency with respect to accounting standards: e.g., ASC 606 and US GAAP
-Experience with multi-company, multi-currency consolidation
-Highly analytical, with attention to detail and outstanding project management skills.
-Self-starter with creative thinking capabilities that include an interest to learn and adopt new finance strategies and tactics for a fast-growing software start up.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment on multiple projects with varying deadlines and level of priorities
-Able to thrive in a highly dynamic, flexible work environment and switch rapidly from strategy to execution.
-Previous IPO and start-up experience is a plus
-BS/BA in Accounting, Business Administration, or advanced degree, where required. Certification may be required in some areas.
