Aviya provides expertise in program management, systems, software, mechanical, and hardware engineering to many of the top-tier Aerospace and Defense Contractors. Aviya has an opening for an Electronic Obsolescence Project Manager to join our Supply Chain group in Longueuil, Quebec.
Specific Position Duties
- Provide project management leadership, engineering liaison and technical expertise to mitigate obsolescence risks and manage associated projects to prevent impact to material flow.
- Lead various activities to help improve the overall Obsolescence Management Process Governance and associated technical Project Management to mitigate the risks.
- Develop a strong network with our numerous worldwide suppliers, along with multiple internal organizations (Engineering, Inspection, Configuration Management, Quality, Lab, Procurement, etc.).
- Perform supplier obsolescence risk surveys and reports.
- Evaluate supplier’s risk mitigation proposals (Engineering change vs. Last Time Buy).
- Plan and coordinate the execution of Engineering Changes (obsolete part replacement).
- Leverage Engineering and Supplier networks to help drive various obsolescence technical issues to closure.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives on the Electronic Obsolescence Management Process.
- Provide occasional onsite technical support at suppliers.
Qualifications for Potential Position
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 2+ years pertinent experience in Engineering/Operations linked to Electronics components.
- Knowledgeable of Electronic Obsolescence management.
- Strong technical background in electronics.
- Possesses strong business acumen, influential leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Works well in a team
- Autonomous, organized and efficient.
- Possess strong leadership and communication skills.
- Bilingual French / English.
- Willing to occasionally travel to support our worldwide supply base.
