Aviya provides expertise in program management, systems, software, mechanical, and hardware engineering to many of the top-tier Aerospace and Defense Contractors. Aviya has an opening for a Combustion Aerothermal Analyst to join our engineering group in Mississauga, Ontario.
Specific Position Duties
- Perform combustor flow distribution, pressure loss, and other fundamental calculations using in-house and commercial tools.
- Prepare and execute 3D combustion system computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations using the latest commercial codes and models.
- Prepare engineering reports, analytical summary memos and presentations.
- Participate in multidisciplinary Integrated Product Team (IPT) meetings where you will present findings and make recommendations.
- Maintain effective communications with key stakeholders, multidisciplinary and global team members.
- Prepare Request for Test, perform data reduction and analysis for component, rig, and engine tests.
- Support production by providing disposition of part non-conformances.
- Support rig and engine testing both on and off-site, and field issues as they arise.
- Contribute to maintainability and repairability activities to define and improve serviceable limits on combustion components.
Qualifications for Position
- Master’s degree or PhD in Aeronautics, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous experience in combustion aerodynamics, thermal/heat transfer, operability, and fuel systems, fuels, emissions, and acoustics.
- Solid experience with CATIA, ANSYS Workbench, Combustion CFD tools, MS-Excel macros, Matlab and Python.
- Strong project management skills and business sense are an asset.
- Strong communication and people skills are a must.
- Good technical engine and overall product knowledge.
- Bilingual, English/French, is an asset.
- Willing to occasionally travel.
