Barbaricum is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Program Manager to join our dynamic team in support of the Program Executive Office Ground Combat Systems (PEO GCS). This critical role involves providing day-to-day direction and expert functional guidance to a group of subordinates, interfacing with both government management and the contractor to resolve problems, and establishing priorities based on government goals and objectives.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the seamless operation and execution of project tasks, distributing and balancing workloads effectively, and leading the team towards achieving strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day direction and supervision to a team of subordinates, ensuring efficient project progression.
- Offer expert functional guidance to employees, enhancing their performance and projectalcontributions.
- Act as the primary interface between the government customer and the contractor, ensuring clear communication and problem resolution.
- Establish work priorities for subordinates based on government goals and objectives, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Perform direct support functional roles as needed, contributing to the project’s overall success.
- Manage and distribute the team's workload in accordance with established workflows, ensuring timely accomplishment of assigned tasks.
- Provide on-the-job training to new employees, guiding them through established procedures and practices.
- Lead team assessments, identifying strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement, and implement strategies to enhance performance.
- Communicate clearly with the team regarding assignments, problems to be solved, milestones, and timeframes for completion.
- Assign work based on personnel workload, ability, and assignment priority, offering instruction and assistance on issues as necessary.
Qualification
- Active DoD Secret Clearance.
- A Bachelors degree in a technical or project management field from an accredited college or university or a Masters degree in either of the preceding disciplines may be substituted for one year of work experience.
- A minimum of 10 years experience in Project/Program Management in the acquisition/development/release for DOD platforms. Equivalent industry experience will be considered.
- Demonstrated competency in key areas including written and oral communication, leadership, team management, negotiation, personal organization, and risk management.
- Proven ability to interface effectively with government management and resolve complex problems.
- Experience in establishing work priorities, distributing workloads, and ensuring the timely completion of projects.
- Strong ability to provide effective on-the-job training and guidance to new employees.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with a track record of leading teams to assess and improve their performance.
- Excellent negotiation skills, with the ability to effectively manage relations between government customers and contractors.
- High level of personal organization and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Expertise in risk management, with the ability to identify and mitigate potential project risks.
