About the role
We are looking for a Marketing Content Specialist to join our team. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role where you will be responsible for creating engaging, conversion-ready content across every stage of the customer journey. You will support content operations, manage external agencies, and collaborate across marketing, product, and design teams to develop and execute content strategies that align with business goals. Please note that this is a hybrid role that will require at least 2 days a week in our downtown Toronto office a few blocks from Union Station.

What you'll do

    • Produce high-quality, educational content across multiple formats, including blogs, guides, social media posts, and webinars that deliver valuable real estate market insights and practical use cases of Baselane products for core customer segments.
    • Coordinate content publishing in CMS (Webflow, WordPress) and distribution across core channels, partner networks, and community forums.
    • Refresh and optimize existing content based on key performance metrics for improving qualified user engagement and conversion rates. 
    • Leverage AI to draft compelling copy, refining outputs for brand positioning and messaging, market insights, and conversion rate optimization.
    • Craft clear, conversion-focused copy for paid ads, emails, landing pages, and video/podcast scripts that clearly communicate Baselane’s value propositions and benefits across customer personas.
    • Create email sequences for onboarding, product announcements, and nurture campaigns that drive customer activation and retention.
    • Develop content for forums, conferences, presentations, partnership activations, and other community engagement initiatives that reinforce Baelane’s brand and credibility in the market.
    • Work closely with Growth, Product, Marketing, and Design teams to align content with company priorities, customer personas, and campaign timelines.
    • Support external agency and contributor coordination, including writing briefs and reviewing submissions, and ensuring deliverables meet editorial standards and deadlines.

What we're looking for

    • Highly driven: Motivated by diverse projects, new challenges, and opportunities to develop professionally in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
    • 2-3 years of marketing experience: Ideally in a B2C startup or fintech environment, with demonstrated skill in content creation and digital marketing campaigns.
    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field.
    • Exceptional writing, research, and editing: Can turn complex real estate or financial topics into clear, skimmable, conversion-focused copy.
    • Project management skills: Manages competing priorities and deadlines (Asana, Notion, or similar).
    • Channel versatility: Experience in tailoring tone and structure for various platforms, including blogs, social media, email, landing pages, and paid ads.
    • SEO fundamentals: Basic understanding of keyword research and on-page optimization using tools like SEMrush or Google Analytics.
    • Agency & stakeholder collaboration: Comfortable briefing, reviewing, and coordinating with cross-functional teams and external freelancers/agencies.
    • AI-savvy: Regularly uses AI tools (ChatGPT, Grammarly, etc.) to boost efficiency without sacrificing quality.

Bonus if you have:

    • Experience in financial technology, banking services, or real estate investment products.
    • Familiarity with landlords, property management companies, or real estate investors as customer segments.
    • Experience in a fast-paced startup or entrepreneurial environment.
    • Proficiency in CMS (e.g. WordPress/Webflow) and project management tools (e.g. HubSpot, Notion, Asana).
