About the Role

The Business Operations & Strategy Lead will play a central role in shaping Baselane’s operating system. You will drive impacts across the organization – whether it is scaling Baselane’s inbound sales function, automating our fraud engine, or quarterbacking compliance in a shifting FinTech landscape. This is an opportunity for high levels of responsibility and ownership that will directly influence the trajectory of a high-growth fintech.

The role is ideal for an ambitious, intelligent, structured, and data-driven operator who thrives in ambiguous environments and can perform on long-form, complex deliverables.

Responsibilities

    • Strategy & Financial Analysis/RevOps
    • Shape Baselane’s models and related analyses to evaluate growth plans, resource allocations between initiatives, and frame strategic trade-offs
    • Communicate key business drivers to the leadership team across financial levers, product sensitivities, or customer expansion
    • Establish and manage Baselane’s cadence for OKRs and KPI tracking, ensuring visibility and accountability across the organization

    • Cross-Functional Programs & Infrastructure
    • Manage key operational initiatives - such as the design & rollout of Baselane’s automated fraud & risk scoring engine and in-sourcing of KYC flows
    • Support the day-to-day management of key infrastructure across our banking and payment processing products
    • More generally, work across the company to pitch in wherever help is needed; one day you might be working with Sales to improve AE efficiency, the next you may be working with our CEO on a board deck, and then you might be working with our CX team to improve the performance of our generative AI chatbot

    • Risk & Regulatory Programs
    • Drive readiness for Baselane’s SOC 2 certification and other critical InfoSec requirements
    • Help Baselane establish best practices in compliance (AML/OFAC, entity-level filings, risk management) as we scale and own these responsibilities internally
    • Serve as a direct partner with our sponsor bank on audits and compliance initiatives, ensuring Baselane stays ahead of regulatory trends

What we're looking for

    • 3+ years of relevant experience: You have experience in consulting, venture capital, business operations, or product/ops roles. You have a track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and delivering results in fast-paced environments.
    • Operator’s mindset: You are comfortable with ambiguity and thrive on solving complex problems. You move quickly but thoughtfully, balancing speed with quality.
    • Systems thinker: You design processes and frameworks that scale, not just put out fires. You can manage multiple initiatives at once and drive them to completion with a high level of detail and accountability.
    • Analytically rigorous: You ground decisions in data and can frame trade-offs clearly. You’re comfortable with financial modeling (Excel required; SQL a plus).
    • Highly collaborative: You build strong relationships across the organization and external partners, and can jump into mission-critical projects to accelerate deliverables.
    • Self-starter: You proactively identify gaps and opportunities, take initiative without waiting for direction, and bring forward solutions that improve the business.
    • Low ego, high impact: No project is too big or too small — you’ll jump into the weeds when needed but keep your eye on the big picture.
    • Excellent communicator: You distill complexity into clear insights and updates for leadership, partners, and the board.
