ABOUT THE TEAM

The Business Intelligence & Data Operations team works on data and reporting solutions using big data from our online programmatic ad-buying and automation platform to solve business problems and support decision-making. They work with a wide variety of groups within Basis including Product and Engineering, Customer Success, Sales, Operations, and Services. The team manages all aspects of custom reporting and analytics projects and advises on reporting capabilities available through our technology platform and API.

The Business Intelligence and Data Operations team is the ideal place for someone who thrives on working in a fast-paced growth environment, has a passion for working with data and technology, and is not afraid to take on some of the most complex challenges that Basis has to offer.

The BI Developer will be responsible for developing, supporting, and implementing business intelligence solutions. Will need to assist in the build of new solutions for reporting and analytics, including model development, data visualizations, security, and governance. You will contribute by:

    • Designing and maintaining complex ETL processes, data models, data storage, and monitoring systems.
    • Designing and maintaining BI reports: spreadsheets, visualizations, web dashboards, self-service, etc.
    • Creating and updating documentation for technical design, data sources, ETL processes and reporting solutions.
    • Gathering or digesting product requirements from business analysts and internal stakeholders, and suggesting reporting solutions.
    • Understanding the QA process and participating in multiple levels of testing.
    • Collaborating with internal clients, enabling them to understand and leverage our data.
    • Learning about our data sets and understanding the KPIs that drive business success.
    • Identifying and recommending BI product improvements for better data intelligence across Basis.
    • Providing “Raving Fan” service to internal and external stakeholders by being highly responsive and sharing knowledge to improve the ability of others.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

    • Minimum of 2 years work experience in a similar role.
    • Post-secondary computer science, engineering, mathematics, sciences, etc.
    • Strong knowledge and experience with Relational Databases including SQL.
    • Experience with Python language, and common data analysis libraries.
    • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau, Datorama).
    • Experience with ETL software (e.g. Pentaho, Talend, Tableau, Domo, etc.).
    • Capable of working with engineers about technical design tradeoffs including platforms, frameworks, scalability and performance.
    • Experience with entire development and project life cycles (SLDC) and doing so in a fast-paced workplace.
    • Resourceful and self-reliant; a strong self-teacher with a passion for learning.
    • Excellent communicator with an ability to clearly explain complex technical subjects.
    • Passionate about problem solving and engaging the team to arrive at a solution.

BONUS POINTS

    • Knowledge of the digital advertising industry (e.g. AdWords, DSP, ad serving).
    • Experience with version control system (e.g. Git)

$89,000 - $120,000 a year
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual salary is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process. The total compensation package for this position may also include commission or bonus, company equity, and competitive benefits.
