ABOUT THE TEAM 
Basis' Product team guides the innovation and development of our comprehensive tech platform, Basis. This team blends focus, collaboration, and creativity to fulfill our mission in creating a transformative tool that makes work more streamlined and fulfilling for those who power the ad tech industry. 
Customer experience is at the forefront of this team’s work—and also includes market research, cross-departmental stakeholder collaboration, user testing, communicating feature requests to engineers and designers, monitoring impact of new feature rollouts, measuring returns on product investments, and more. Together, they leverage their diverse industry experience and talent to brainstorm new ideas, iterate on old ones, and create the best possible product for our customers. 
 

WAYS YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE 
We’re looking for someone who is excited to work with a dedicated group of product managers, designers, and engineers to solve problems facing online marketers today. The Director of Product Management oversees a team of Product Managers working on our demand-side platform (DSP).  

    • Hiring and developing a high-performing team of product managers and senior product leaders, fostering growth, collaboration, and accountability.
    • Setting and driving long-term product strategy and goals that align with company objectives and customer needs.
    • Partnering with executive stakeholders to prioritize investments, shape roadmaps, and guide key decisions.
    • Building and scaling systems that streamline discovery, planning, and delivery across multiple teams.
    • Ensuring high standards of product thinking, execution, and cross-functional collaboration.
    • Developing a deep understanding of the advertising industry, digital ad campaign management, and customer challenges.
    • Identifying and validating new product opportunities that enhance long-term product vision and business impact.
    • Breaking down complex problems into actionable steps that drive product design, development, and measurable results.
    • Managing tradeoffs in time, scope, and cost to achieve optimal outcomes while maintaining team focus and momentum.
    • Defining and tracking key product metrics to make data-driven decisions and measure success.
    • Communicating clear product plans, priorities, and updates to internal stakeholders and leadership.
    • Championing and evangelizing the product internally and externally, inspiring confidence and enthusiasm in the vision.
    • Analyzing and understanding competitive offerings to position products effectively in the marketplace.
    • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to align go-to-market strategies, product positioning, and target customer messaging.
    • Representing the product organization across the company and in public forums as a strategic and inspiring leader.

What You Bring To The Table

    • 12+ years of progressive experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant work in product management, technology, or a related field.
    • 5+ years of management experience leading product teams, ideally within SaaS or cloud-based platforms.
    • Deep expertise in the programmatic advertising ecosystem, including Real-Time Bidding (RTB), SSPs/Exchanges, DSPs, DMPs, identity and attribution providers, IVT/fraud detection, and other key ad tech partners.
    • Strong understanding of campaign management workflows, reporting infrastructure, and financial systems within the digital advertising domain.
    • Proven track record of delivering high-impact products and scaling cross-functional product organizations.
    • Strategic leadership skills with the ability to define clear goals, apply OKR and SMART frameworks, and drive execution through influence and accountability.
    • Analytical mindset with skill in breaking down large initiatives into achievable milestones, making tough prioritization decisions, and defending rationale with data and insight.
    • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence executives, partners, and customers through clear writing, presentations, and strategic conversations.
    • Ad tech experience at a company operating a DSP, SSP, or exchange strongly preferred.

$150,000 - $257,000 a year
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual salary is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your location during the hiring process. The total compensation package for this position may also include commission or bonus, company equity, and competitive benefits.
