OVERVIEW
American Battery Technology Company (ABTC)is ani industry-leading battery metal and critical materials technology development and commercialization company. Our Pilot Plant will be the first integrated implementation of our multi-step processing train for the full mechanical processing, physical separations, chemical extractions, and production of commercial-scale battery metals that will be resold back into the battery manufacturing supply chain to enact a low-cost, low environmental impact, and domestically sourced closed-loop circular economy.
 
ABOUT THE JOB
ABTC’s Material Handler will support production of next-generation battery materials by managing the administrative and physical tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and order fulfillment of materials, supplies, and equipment. The primary focus of this position is to control and track materials from receipt, through storage, to issue. The ideal candidate has previous material handling experience in an industrial manufacturing setting. This person is eager to contribute ideas, takes direction from leadership, and is comfortable being part of a newly developed and expanding team. RESPONSIBILITIES
·        Move, sort, kit, load and unload cartons, orders, pallets, or other into and out of trailers or to designated areas.
·        Ensure proper, efficient, and accurate use of all processes.
·        Clean, organize, sweep, scrub all areas of the facility while ensuring personal workspace is always kept orderly.
·        General understanding of the manufacturing processes, quality standards, equipment, operations, safety requirements and departmental procedures.  
·        Load or unload trucks either band, forklift, or by pallet jack.
·        Unload incoming material and place in proper inventory area.
·        Work with the team to load and unload of machinery.
·        Inspect incoming material for damage and accurate count and notify supervisor of any discrepancies or damage.
·        ·Accurately label materials for both incoming and stocking orders
·        ·Distribute parts to various locations using a pallet jack or industrial lifts
·        ·Deconstruct and compress boxes, pallets, and crates
·        ·Move large items using a forklift
·        ·Maintain inventory int the storage lot, keeping it organized and clean
·        ·General housekeeping duties and other duties as assigned by the Lead or Manager
·        Leading a culture of safety compliance, especially as it pertains to material handling equipment.
·        Complete physical tasks as directed, including but not limited to pushing, pulling, gripping, twisting, reaching, etc.
·        Maintaining a clean and orderly work area
 QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum required qualifications:
·        Highschool diploma or GED.
·        2+ years of working in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
·        Must have basic computer skills.
·        Ability to read and understand instructions in English.
·        Ability to communicate both written and verbally in English.
·        Detail-oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
·        Ability to be forklift certified.
Preferred Qualifications:
·        Knowledge and understanding of control systems.
·       Forklift Certified
·        Working knowledge of chemical plant operations and related equipment.
·  2 yr. degree AA or AS preferred Applied technology.
  PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of up to 6 hours a day. Ability to walk throughout the plant.
Ability to bend at the waist.
Ability to lift unassisted 50lbs and assisted over 50lbs.+assisted. Climbing stairs and ladders (1) limited
Ability to wear PPE, which includes but is not limited to the following: eye and face protection, Hearing Protection, Respirators, and protective shoes and coverings.
Must have 20/20 or corrected vision. Ability to perform repetitive duties.
Ability to work in an environment that may include exposure to noise, dust, and chemicals for extended periods of time.
