American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) is an industry-leading battery metal and critical materials technology development and commercialization company. Our Pilot Plant in Fernley, Nevada will be the first integrated implementation of our multi-step processing train for the full mechanical processing, physical separations, chemical extractions, and production of commercial-scale battery metals that will be resold back into the battery manufacturing supply chain to enact a low-cost, low environmental impact, and domestically sourced closed-loop circular economy.
ABOUT THE JOB
Our Mechanical Drafter/Designer will manage and operate all facets of modeling for our proprietary lithium-ion battery recycling processes and primary resource extraction technologies. This candidate will work with our engineering team and executive officers at our headquarters in Reno, Nevada. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the design, installation, commissioning, and operations of first-of-kind equipment and facilities. This candidate should be passionate about implementing and maintaining an efficient model, ensuring quality control of design, identifying areas of design improvement, and crafting and deploying detailed layouts. The ideal candidate will be a problem-solver and have a keen interest in scaling processes proven at the bench-scale up to pilot- or pre-commercial scales. This position will report to the Digital Design Lead.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
·The Mechanical Drafter/Designer is expected to provide both coordination and design skills in support of a detailed and accurate model.
·Work from sketches, notes, verbal instruction, or existing drawings to prepare new and revised engineering drawings.
·Responsible for developing layouts with inputs from various technical teams working on a given project while using the model for planning and conceptual work.
·Continued maintenance of completed models/as-builts upon completion for future projects.
·Scope of responsibility will include overall accuracy & completeness of the models, physical & operational spatial coordination, and timely implementation and resolution of any issues according to an aggressive schedule.
·Identify conflicts with Architectural, Structural, and other MEP design elements and present well thought-out and cost-effective solutions.
·Interacts and communicates effectively with all members of the project team.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
·Experience in Autodesk Software: Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks. Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and/or Dassault SolidWorks is a plus.
·1+ years of hands-on experience working with infrastructure engineers and contractors on the design/construction of manufacturing facilities.
·Experience interfacing with design/construction and cost control on quantity takeoffs.
·Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Civil, Architectural, or Mechanical Engineering and/or equivalent drafting technology diploma.
·Ability to read P&ID’s and identify items (equipment, valves, instruments, piping, etc.) in the field.
