Summary:
As a Bazaarvoice Technical Program Manager you will have industry-leading strategic and technological skills, along with a proven record in program and project management. You will have the opportunity to leverage these skills on the most interesting and challenging initiatives, helping drive the continued success of Bazaarvoice.

Requirements of this position:
In this role you will program management skills:
* Be responsible for solving problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader concept. TPMs will solve the largest Engineering and Product Development problems/opportunities (BV initiatives & imperatives) and are responsible for the creation of the definition of the problem (WHAT, WHY) and how it will be solved (HOW) with the goal of driving incremental value for our clients. Eg. One Modern Portal, API First, Social Commerce.
* Deliver agreed-upon program objectives. Lead efforts to define the value of the program (measurement of success) and track all key metrics pertaining to a program, monitor potential metric deviations, and propose corrective actions for critical deviations. Ensure teams have a laser focus on outcomes.
* Navigate complex and ambiguous environments and lead a team to solve-for “named” problems while managing changing company priorities.
* Create a comprehensive delivery plan that will include
 (a) clear description of the root cause problem/opportunity and how we will measure success (KPIs)
 (b) accurate estimated timelines
 (c) mitigation strategies for technical and business risks & dependencies
 (d) communication plan 
 (e) identified key stakeholders (RACI) 
 (f) budget and other components as needed for the program.
* Gain agreement and respective sign off for critical decisions, understand who and when to get sign-off from stakeholders, leaders and executives.
* Clearly communicate across the organization and successfully to both individual contributors, managers, sr. managers, directors and executives.
* Hold stakeholders accountable and motivate them to deliver units of work and overcome obstacles in a timely and consistent manner. Have the ability to right track a project when issues arise using the Red, Yellow Green flag methodology.
* Respectfully challenge teams on delivery timelines based on time, scope and people levers - in line with organizational priorities.  
* Address conflicts and remove impediments/obstacles for the team to focus on key activities. Ensure follow-up on all action items and keep a constant view on interdependencies and impact of changes. Report product development progress, changes and risks to executive leadership.
* Intimately know your Program area, both the short term and long term view of success (Quarterly OKRs outcomes & longer term outcomes & measurements of the program). You will be fully invested and empowered to make decisions with the best interests of the program outcomes in mind.
* Moderate required program meetings and able to take detailed notes, track progress and communicate out to the organization. Able to synthesize large quantities of data and communicate in a simple and concise manner.
* Be a Single-Threaded Leader, ignoring organizational and department boundaries to engage key stakeholders, drive clean escalation and not compromise on quality.

Additionally you will demonstrate the following technical skills:
* You write high quality, unambiguous documents (e.g. concept documents, functional specifications, design documents) that business and technical stakeholders can easily understand.
* You help solve technical problems with urgency by helping technical teams reach closure by asking the right questions, and offering solutions.
* You always consider the short term needs of the business and long term implications of any decision.
* You facilitate designing of pragmatic solutions, building flexible systems without over-engineering. These solutions are flexible and forward-looking, while remaining simple and straightforward.
* An understanding of data strategies, design patterns and architectural concepts that support you leading complex cross-location programs with high degree of architectural and technical complexity.
* Ability to recognize and adopt best practices in software engineering: design, coding, test, version control, documentation, build, deployment, and operations.
* You understand a broad range of techniques for conducting technical analysis that includes data mining and prototyping and when to use them.
* Ability to design and understand the non-functional fundamentals of cloud-native systems. 
* You understand and apply the standards and techniques that the Principal Engineering Community recommends.
Examples:
You will bring enough technical depth and understanding to describe a solution in the absence of an Engineering representative. 
Diving in deep to solve problems. This could mean digging into code, data, logs, system documentation and design, etc.
Other requirements of the role follow:
* This role is global in nature and from time to time will be required to work with other Engineering Sites
* Assist in the creation of the Technical Program Management Office (TPMO) including shaping of the vision, mission, Engineering delivery standards, practices, templates & KPIs.
* Adhere to BV values and ethics, Engineering principles and Program Management principles (to come)
* Bring a positive, solutions-oriented mindset to your programs, teams, peers
* Strive to discover new approaches to solving complex problems
* Beyond these it is highly desirable that you have:
 Experience as a software developer/software development leader
 Experience presenting and working with Executive Leadership (SVP / C-suite)
* Ultimately you will excel in this role if you:
 Are a master of communication - right information is delivered to the right audience at the right time
 Able to navigate and strive in technical and business ambiguous situations
 Are a strong self-starter - without a lot of direction, you can drill into business data and research results to identify a clear direction
 Able to influence and negotiate with your stakeholders to achieve program objectives
 Are resilient and self-motivated - you will not be discouraged rather than encouraged when challenges arise in a program
