Role Description
 
The Product Manager will play a crucial role in shaping product direction and enhancing customer experience within the designated product stream, focusing specifically on the domain of retail banking.
 
This role involves managing the entire product lifecycle, from defining customer needs and market propositions to ensuring financial viability and business outcomes. 

The Product Manager will be instrumental in driving the property finance product strategy and direction, particularly for customer onboarding journeys across different jurisdictions, with a strong emphasis on retail banking.

This role requires close collaboration with senior stakeholders to align product initiatives with broader business goals, and a strong focus on delivery to ensure that the team consistently meets business outcomes. 

Responsibilities

Leadership
 
                     Develop and communicate a clear vision for their part of the product.
                     Lead and inspire the team to achieve business outcomes, demonstrating strong leadership skills.
                     Collaborate with various teams across the business to realize the product strategy.
                     Keep key stakeholders informed on progress, key decisions, and significant achievements within the squad(s).
                     Manage and mentor junior members of the Product team.
 
Execution
 
                     Develop a product roadmap that balances business commercial needs, customer impact, and domain expertise in retail banking.
                     Drive requirements gathering, defining complex product functionality in collaboration with multiple squads.
                     Contribute to go-to-market plans and product marketing campaigns.
                     Demonstrate a strong focus on delivery, ensuring that the team effectively and efficiently meets business outcomes.
 
Product Strategy & Commerciality
 
                     Work with the Head of Product to develop financial strategies and product positioning to drive adoption, revenue, cost reduction, and overall profitability.
                     Collaborate with growth and marketing teams to implement market strategies for customer-facing products, aiming to increase product uptake and wallet share.
                     Set lower level OKRs for individual product teams that align with the goals of related squads and functions, focusing on retail banking outcomes.
 
Customer Insight
 
                     Understand and articulate customer needs in the context of retail banking, ensuring alignment with business objectives and goals.
                     Foster a culture of user empathy, utilizing feedback to inform product decisions.
                     Generate actionable insights from data to guide product decisions and track progress.
                     Define and monitor success metrics for the product, optimizing the proposition continuously.
 
Property Finance Experience
 
                     Deep Knowledge of UK Property Finance: Proficient in all aspects of the UK property finance sector, encompassing mortgages, property investments, and development finance.
                     Experience of having worked with broker portals and loan origination platforms previously.
                     Broker Network Collaboration: Proven experience in leveraging broker networks and partnerships to generate new mortgage business.
                     Digital Acquisition Expertise: Skilled in acquiring mortgage business through direct digital channels, demonstrating a strong digital marketing acumen.
                     Regulatory and Legal Acumen: Well-versed in UK property regulations and law, ensuring compliance and informed product development.
                     Vast experience in the mortgage industry with a working knowledge of the UK mortgage market, competitor landscape and industry best practice
                     Direct experience with a UK mortgage lender working on their mortgage proposition (pricing, credit policy, journeys, change or strategy)

                     Always act in good faith towards customers, avoid causing foreseeable harm, and enable and support the Bank’s clients /customers to pursue their financial objectives. As related to your role, you should monitor, assess, understand and evidence how you are acting to deliver good outcomes to clients and customers as per the FCA’s Consumer Duty regulations.

Skills & Experience
 
                     Product Management experience, ideally with a focus on retail banking.
                     Preferred experience in start-up/fintech product teams and exposure to banking and professional services.
                     Strong experience in leading multidisciplinary teams to meet strategic business objectives.
                     Data literacy and experience in using analytics to inform decision-making. 

Qualifications
 
                     Certifications such as Certified Product Manager, Agile Certified Product Manager, or Certified Product Marketing Manager are preferable.
                     Graduate or appropriate qualification, ideally with a focus on business or finance.
