What We're Looking For:
Beam is looking for an experienced controller to oversee daily accounting & financial operations, ensure tax and regulatory compliance, provide timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with GAAP, establish and mature internal controls, coordinate external audits, manage treasury activities, and develop a best-in-class team. 

What You Will Do:

    • Plan, direct and coordinate all accounting operations
    • Manage relationships & workstreams with external auditors, consultants, and tax advisors
    • Manage treasury operations and banking relationships
    • Provide recommendations to reduce expenses and improve profitability
    • Provide management with financial information vital to the decision making process
    • Partner with cross-functional teams / leaders to evaluate and prepare for the impact strategic initiatives may have on accounting, financial operations, and the broader control environment
    • Participate in the renegotiation of vendor / partner contractsManage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
    • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex topics and transactions
    • Coordinate and prepare internal and external financial statements in compliance with GAAP
    • Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
    • Evaluate, document, and mature accounting and internal controls processes and procedures
    • Oversee regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance
    • Evaluate the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting databases, as needed
    • Oversee payroll and related operations
    • Hire, train, manage and retain skilled accounting staff

What Skills Will Help You Be Successful:

    • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
    • Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
    • Proficiency with Netsuite (or similar accounting software)
    • An advanced knowledge of Excel and familiarity with data query/management tools
    • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to tell a cohesive, concise story 
    • Confidence to consult with and influence senior leaders
    • Self-motivated with a demonstrated desire to learn new technologies and skills
    • A demonstrated track record of completing large amounts of important work
    • A strong attention to detail and well-organized
    • Integrity and empathy
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
$182,800 - $292,400 a year
The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and budget for the open position and also may vary depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other relevant factors. This range does not include an estimated value for any benefits, bonus, or other incentives that may be applicable based on position.
