Position Overview
We are actively seeking a dedicated Construction Safety Officer (CSO) to ensure the safety and well-being of all personnel involved in a new residential development. The CSO will be responsible for implementing safety measures, conducting inspections, and promoting a culture of safety on the construction site.
 

Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for executing Beedie HS&E programs in all types of situations (project start-up, duration and close out) on our job sites
    • Promoting a culture of job site safety, where safety is a shared responsibility
    • Preparing site safety plans, conducting hazard assessments, incident investigations and risk assessments as required
    • Ensuring all accidents, incidents and injuries are properly reported to all appropriate parties
    • Facilitating and participating in site inspections, and implementing corrective action as required
    • Regularly monitoring safety compliance of workers and sub-contractors
    • Conducting safety meetings and toolbox talks
    • Maintaining and preparing thorough documentation and reports
    • Keeping management updated on issues that arise
    • Administering first-aid as necessary
    • Performing other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience

    • Certified Construction Safety Officer (CSO) or (NCSO) designation
    • Degree/Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety considered an asset
    • Minimum of 2 years Health and Safety experience
    • Minimum Occupational First Aid Level II (OFA 2)
    • Good knowledge of WorkSafe BC regulations, policies, guidelines and standards
    • Proactive in identifying hazards and implementing corrective measures
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
    • Ability to commute to site
    • Own vehicle required
$30 - $35 an hour

The annual base pay range for this position will be based on the desired experience level for this role.
