Overview
The Debt Asset Management Team is responsible for the oversight of a portfolio of commercial real estate debt investments. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for supporting the asset management team in preserving and creating value in the existing portfolio. They will also work alongside the investment team in the origination, underwriting, and execution of real estate debt related investment opportunities across various property types. Senior Analysts will support the team by maintaining complex financial analyses, evaluating monthly operating reports, and interacting directly with sponsors through bi-weekly operations calls. In this role there will be tremendous learning and growth opportunities through interactions with leading experts in the real estate investment industry.

Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in the proactive monitoring and management of a portfolio of debt investments across various property types;
    • Review and analyze business plans, leasing activity, and monthly property operating data;
    • Analyze loan draws to ensure property business plans stay in line with budget and leasing parameters;
    • Liaison with borrowers and leading members of the Asset Management Team and client to review business plan execution and ensure debt covenants are met;
    • Generate reporting materials to monitor the performance of investments at the asset level and support portfolio management analytics;
    • Examine and report on covenant monitoring;
    • Perform credit analysis of potential sponsors/borrowers;
    • Support loan closing and onboarding to Asset Management function; spearhead loan repayment process;
    • Focus on all aspects of loan originations, financial modeling/underwriting, term sheets, due diligence, loan document review, and closings;
    • Perform in-depth market research, comparable sale reviews, lease analyses and sponsor diligence;
    • Support asset management through review of borrower quarterly reporting and loan covenant compliance;
    • Collaborate to perform due diligence throughout the closing process; and
    • Play a major role in the preparation of investment memoranda and participate in deal presentations to the debt investment committee.

Professional Experience

    • A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience;
    • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills; and
    • Ability to understand and analyze loan documents, leases, and management agreements. 

Education/Certification

    • Bachelor’s degree required

Travel Requirements

    • Travel to assets and client sites required on an as-needed basis, approximately 1-2 times per month depending on deal list.

$110,000 - $110,000 a year
$110,000 base, plus discretionary bonus
Offered salary is based on a variety of factors, including skills, experience, and qualifications for the role.
