BETA is seeking a motivated,  detail-oriented Quality Control Inspection Technician to join our growing team. This position will focus on conducting thorough inspections, documenting findings, and promptly addressing any deviations from established quality standards to uphold the integrity and reliability of our products. 
As a Quality Control Inspection Technician, you will be responsible for conducting inspections and testing to ensure compliance with engineering specifications. Your primary duties include documenting inspection results, identifying defects, and reporting any instances of poor quality. You will also play a crucial role in safely discarding or destroying items that fail to meet specifications to prevent them from entering production. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that all products meet our established requirements for reliability and workmanship, as well as other quality control program standards. The ideal candidate has keen attention to detail, and is proficient in using precision dimensional inspection equipment including, but not limited to, calipers and micrometers.

How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:

    • Inspect incoming components and raw materials using precision measuring instruments to ensure compliance with product specifications and Aerospace Standards.
    • Retrieve and interpret technical documents to develop inspection plans.
    • Perform First Article Inspections in accordance with AS9100 standards.
    • Conduct periodic inspections of components at various stages of manufacturing.
    • Complete required documentation and input data into the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, generating inspection reports as necessary.
    • Effectively communicate technical requirements to shop personnel.
    • Assign traceability to incoming raw materials, quarantine, and scrap non-conforming components.
    • Prioritize workflow to optimize efficiency.
    • Maintain and calibrate measuring equipment to ensure accuracy.
    • Contribute to team efforts by assisting with related tasks as needed.
    • Perform additional tasks as required by individual job assignments.
    • Ensure a clean work environment and adhere to safety regulations.

Minimum Qualifications we are seeking:

    • High school diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or equivalent qualification.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
    • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
    • Experience performing dimensional inspections using standard precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gage blocks with strong attention to detail.
    • Previous experience in manufacturing operations is preferred.
    • Strong teamwork skills, capable of performing effectively under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
    • Proactively seek ways to improve processes and maintain high-quality standards with an innovative and mechanically inclined approach.
    • Ability to work independently while also being an effective team player.
    • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Ability to maintain a tidy and organized work area.
    • Excellent written and communication skills to facilitate effective teamwork and appreciate diverse perspectives.
    • Proficiency in Google G-Suite applications including Drive, Mail, Calendar, Docs, and Sheets.

Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:

    • Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 standards.
    • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Working knowledge of CAD software, including Catia or Onshape.
    • Two or more years experience in Aerospace Quality Control.
    • Certification from the American Society for Quality (ASQ).
    • Knowledge of quality improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma.
    • Competence in at least one non-destructive inspection technique, such as Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection.
    • Understanding of Quality Management Systems like AS9100.
    • Familiarity with FAA regulations and Aerospace conformity requirements.
    • Experience utilizing Business Enterprise Systems such as Plex.
    • Experience with Inspection software such as InspectionXpert, NetInspect, or equivalent reporting software.
    • Experience working with a manufacturing team to develop new processes.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

    • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment using OSHA-required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).  
    • This job involves physical demands such as indoor/outdoor activities, walking, standing, climbing, bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, and operating equipment safely. It may include exposure to variable noise levels, fumes, and hazardous chemicals, requiring personal protective equipment.
