Our Calibration Coordinator Tech position supports our teams by making sure that all monitoring, measuring, and testing devices are calibrated in accordance with both company and industry standards and requirements. You will be performing or coordinating the calibration of tools as required and making sure to minimize impact on the teams, and production, as well as put together measurement kits for manufacturing inspection use. This requires the interface with multiple teams in multiple locations, as well as calibration suppliers to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective methods.
You’ll play a key role in ensuring that all products meet our established requirements for reliability and workmanship, as well as other quality control program standards by safely discarding or destroying equipment that doesn’t meet the necessary specifications to prevent unsatisfactory results during production. The ideal candidate has keen attention to detail and is proficient in coordinating and performing calibrations according to the company and industry requirements of at least basic hand gages including calipers, micrometers, and pin gages.
How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
- Coordinating the calibration of precision measuring instruments to determine conformance to product specifications and Aerospace Standards as required.
- Retrieval and interpretation of technical documents
- Interpret technical documents and develop a calibration plan
- Read datasheets for units under test to write and assess calibration procedures
- Communicate technical requirements to shop personnel
- Perform calibration and verification procedures as required
- Supporting MSA/Gage R&R studies
- Receive inbound instruments and complete required documentation, enter them into Calibration Management System, and creating reports as needed
- Assign traceability to incoming instruments, tools, and equipment
- Prioritize workflow
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Perform tasks as needed per individual jobs
- Maintain a clean work environment, and comply with safety requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School graduate or equivalent
- A detail-oriented person with experience participating in quality management or quality assurance programs such as AS9100 or ISO 9001
- At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing operations
- Familiar with testing and measurement equipment (Calipers, Micrometers, Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, etc.)
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings and technical manuals
- Working knowledge of GD&T
- Experience performing dimensional inspections using standard precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gage blocks
- Proficient in the use of computer applications such as Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, and/or web-based software.
- Experience working with a manufacturing team to develop new processes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work independently and stay on task, but function as a team player to work towards company goals
Above and Beyond Qualifications that will distinguish you:
- Working knowledge of ISO 17025:2017, ISO 10012, ASME B89 and ANSI/NCSL Z540.3 Standards
- Two or four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Two or more years of experience in Quality Control or calibration in Aerospace
- Certification from American Society for Quality (ASQ)
- Experience with quality control techniques such as Six Sigma
- Knowledge of FAA regulations and Aerospace conformity requirements
- Experienced interfacing with Business Enterprise Systems such as Plex.
- Experience with calibration software such as GageTrak, IndySoft, or equivalent reporting software
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment using OSHA-required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
