About the role:
We're looking to add a Senior Frontend Software Engineer to our dynamic team at Betr, where you would leverage your expertise in React Native to drive the development of cutting-edge mobile applications. As a key contributor, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to architect, implement, and optimize the building and delivery of features across iOS and Android. Bring your passion for innovation and problem-solving to the forefront as we continue to push the boundaries of sports betting technology!
**This role is a remote position based in Canada.
About You:
- You have expert knowledge of React Native, coding standards (JS / TS, HTML, CSS), and best practices for writing clean, testable, and maintainable code
- You value writing technical documentation, dev design docs, and sharing knowledge effectively across the team, and in service of future developers as the team grows
- You are comfortable picking up large, complex tasks from the backlog that may require architectural planning, and implementing features that may interact with many parts of the system
- You’re able to provide mentorship to junior engineers at times, and participate in the code review process both in terms of conducting code reviews and receiving them
- You thrive in an Agile work environment and value estimating the workload of a given sprint, demoing the resulting work from a sprint, and engaging in making the process better by participating in bi-weekly retrospectives
- You are able to help in the live monitoring and debugging of releases when necessary
- You are passionate about your craft, and open-minded to new approaches or technologies
Requirements:
- A solid understanding of the full development cycle and Agile development methodologies
- Detail oriented with the ability to manage & ensure quality work (completeness & accuracy)
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Self-motivated and able to drive initiatives from end-to-end
- An entrepreneurial mindset with excellent organizational skills, the ability to be flexible, & prioritize responsibilities
