The role:
As a State Lead, you will be the senior-most leader responsible for driving strategic growth, operational excellence, and community impact in your state. Reporting to [Insert Title], you will lead and support multidisciplinary teams while developing and executing on state-specific strategies that advance Better Life Partners’ mission. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role for someone excited to build and scale community-driven health programs.
This is a hybrid position requiring in-state travel to partner sites, team meetings, and community events, with flexibility to work remotely when not in the field.
What you will do:
- Strategic Growth Leadership:
- Champion and model the core values of Better Life Partners in all interactions, decisions, and initiatives
- Own and execute the state’s growth strategy, ensuring key goals are met and exceeded
- Pursue new business opportunities including grants, pilots, and partnerships aligned with BLP’s mission
- Operational Leadership:
- Identify service gaps and design new programs to meet the evolving needs of the communities we serve
- Ensure high-quality, consistent daily operations across the state in collaboration with internal partners
- Co-develop and manage the annual state budget to ensure financial sustainability of programs
- Optimize payer contracts and execute strategies to reach and serve bundle-eligible members
- Ensure compliance with all state-specific regulations and communicate updates to stakeholders
- Collaborate closely with Central Operations, Implementation, Medical, Tech, and Product teams on key initiatives
- Team Leadership:
- Lead a team of operations and growth professionals, providing clear direction, coaching, and support
- Hire, train, and manage top-tier talent to support our state-level goals
- Set and review performance goals for team members; identify and address barriers to success
You are a good fit if you have:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare, particularly in treatment, recovery, or community health services
- At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or management role with direct reports
- Experience managing both operations and growth functions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Willingness and ability to travel within the state regularly for meetings, site visits, and events
It would also be great if you have:
- A Master’s degree in healthcare administration, public health, business, or a related field
- Proven experience in budget management, program development, and team leadership
- Experience with payer contracting and value-based care models
- Strong strategic thinking and execution skills; able to move from idea to action quickly
- A collaborative, relationship-building mindset with the ability to work across departments
- Familiarity with state-specific healthcare regulations and community needs
- Experience writing or contributing to grant applications, RFPs, or community outreach efforts
Work location requirements:
- BLP operates in hybrid and remote work environments, which allows us to better meet our members and partners where they’re located. Candidates applying for this role must be willing and able to travel locally within the communities we serve and/or travel to onsite meetings as expected in coordination with their department and business needs.
When working from home, the requirements include:
- Must have reliable internet service with a fast upload/download ability
- Ability to ensure any protected health or proprietary data/information is not visible (or audible) to others in any work location
- Must have a quiet space to speak to members, team members, or external partners with minimal background noise and distractions
$78,720 - $104,640 a year
The actual compensation offered within the range, along with title and level, will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, skills, level offered, business requirements, and performance expectations. All full-time BLPeeps are also eligible for equity in the form of stock options to be invested in BLP’s growth and success!
