The PR & Communication Associate will assist in supporting Beyond Meat’s day-to-day global communications efforts with an emphasis on consumer PR and media relations efforts. Responsibilities will include extensive drafting of messaging, media materials, blog posts and e-newsletter copy as well as media outreach and helping to execute consumer PR programs and initiatives. We’re looking for a passionate go-getter who can juggle multiple priorities, thrives under pressure, and is willing to flex beyond their level to take on new roles and responsibilities. 

We’re looking for someone who has…..
Strong writing skills – impeccable grammar, strong storytelling skills and an ability to draft and adapt messaging based on objectives and audiences with minimal edits required. This will be a significant part of the role and will involve drafting both external and internal communications including, media messaging, press releases, briefing sheets, bios, website/blog copy, keynote presentations and more.

Previous media relations experience and contacts – fluency in media outreach and successful history of securing media to cover company and product news, attend brand events, etc.

Proactive, can-do attitude – an ambitious go-getter who takes initiative, is forward thinking and always goes above and beyond the task at hand.

TASKS, DUTIES, & GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Drafting of materials including messaging, press releases, briefing sheets, blog posts, e-blasts, etc.
    • Maintaining and growing relationships with key food media including media outreach, pitching and engagement
    • Assist in the coordination and staffing of onsite media visits
    • Lead the creation of recap slides and reports
    • Manage the PR calendar and communicate real time updates to holistic team members
    • Collaborate with the social/digital to amplify content across earned & owned channels
    • Work with the broader marketing team on key campaigns and brand moments

QUALIFICATIONS - Education, Technical Skills, and/or Previous Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, marketing, or relevant field
    • Preferred 2-3 years of experience in the PR or communications field, ideally at a PR agency
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills are critical
    • Proficiency in Google Suite and MS Office Suite, specifically PowerPoint, Excel, Slides and Sheet
    • Able to work collaboratively and independently, multitask and manage a varied, high-volume workload within the ever-changing digital ecosystem

WORK ENVIRONMENT

    • Expected to be in the office five (5) days per week at our El Segundo, CA HQ.
$80,000 - $90,000 a year
The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $80,000 and $90,000.  The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands.  The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, and benefits.
