Job Purpose/Summary
The Information Technology (IT) Systems Engineer I supports B. F. Saul Company network users and desktop computers in Bethesda, MD and various properties that are generally in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. This is an on-site position.

Essential Job Functions of the Information Technology (IT) Systems Engineer I:

    • End-user Support:
    • Applications (Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft OneDrive, etc.)
    • Network logon assistance (onboarding, offboarding, password resets, etc.)
    • System relocations
    • Hardware problem isolation and reporting
    • Meeting Setup with Teams and various platforms
    • Print / Copier administration
    • Document scanning system administration

    • Communication
    • Microsoft Exchange Online
    • End user VOIP administration
    • VOIP phone provisioning
    • Cell phone administration across major providers (T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T)
    • Cell phone provisioning

    • Network Support:
    • User additions and deletions
    • Assist with software and hardware upgrades
    • Inventory management

    • Projects as Needed:
    • Phone System Upgrades
    • Cellular migrations
    • Microsoft Teams data migration
    • Network auditing documentation
    • Disaster recovery documentation

Required Skills and Abilities of the Information Technology (IT) Systems Engineer I:

    • Any or all the following would be beneficial, but are not required:  
    • RingCentral VOIP platform
    • Microsoft Teams Phone
    • Microsoft Office Specialist
    • Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician
    • Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist
    • Microsoft Certified IT Professional
    • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator
    • Working knowledge of Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016 and higher, and Active Directory management
    • Working knowledge of Office 365, Exchange Online, and Entra ID / Azure AD identity management.
    • Able to navigate Microsoft Teams and OneDrive effectively and teach users as needed.
    • Must be self-motivated, work well with others, and be able to communicate effectively with non-technical personnel.

Required Education / Experience of the Information Technology (IT) Systems Engineer I:

    • Any post-secondary education with a concentration in computer or Information Technology science preferred or commensurate work-related IT Operations experience.
    • 5+ years supporting users and operations in a complex environment

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements / Travel

    • This position is based in an office environment with prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Less than 10% travel within the DC metro area
$80,000 - $115,000 a year
The actual base pay offered is determined by several variables, including, as appropriate, the applicant's qualifications for the position, years of relevant experience, distinctive skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held.  Base pay is one component of B. F. Saul Company & Affiliates total compensation package, which also includes access to or eligibility for healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, bonus plans and more.
