Who You Are
You are a motivated student or recent graduate student who is passionate about business analytics. You excel at collecting, organizing and analyzing data to identify and monitor key strategic opportunities as part of BHG’s drive to continuously improve every facet of the business. You are a logical and analytical thinker and thrive in a fast-paced environment where you will perform complex data analysis in supporting strategic business needs and transform raw data into finished products. You are a continuous learner who constantly is looking to absorb feedback and put it to use. You are a strong communicator who can summarize complex findings for partners with different backgrounds and goals.
We are looking for a Data Analytics Intern to join our Summer Internship Program, where you will work both independently and as part of a team, with oversight from your Hiring Manager and the University Relations department. Summer Internships take place from May - August and require a commitment of 40 hours per week. With comprehensive training and supervision, you will gain valuable experience applying knowledge acquired in the classroom to real-world problems.
What You'll Do
- Work with the production, credit risk, and commission analytics department at BHG to continuously optimize BHG’s business model
- Provide strategic and tactical support to partners by quantifying, analyzing, and interpreting business data to provide innovative solutions to key challenges
- Create and automate standardized monitoring for BHG’s key performance indicators to ensure BHG’s products, operations, and strategies are working as intended
- Analyze data with standard statistical methods, interpret the results and provide a summary of data analysis to key stakeholders and partners
- Leverage data science and machine learning techniques to derive new quantifiable insights that improve BHG’s products, operations, and strategies
- Contribute a fresh perspective to BHG’s existing data and analytics practices
- Come up with strategic solutions within different aspects of the company, including but not limited to: marketing, sales, employee performance, client profiling, credit, and risk
What You'll Need
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering or related quantitative fields
- Must be graduating no later than 2023 (Spring, Summer or Fall)
- Full-time availability of 40 hours a week
- Proficient with SQL
- Knowledge of R, Python preferred
- Proficient with Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
- Intellectual curiosity and aptitude to pick up new technical skills and domain knowledge
- Ability to receive and implement constructive feedback
- Excited to collaborate and eager to learn
- Driven and ambitious
- Great team player
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
